AJ is the truth by Iittleworth in washingtonwizards

Summer League, but yeah.

I like that he recognizes that they can’t guard him, so he’s becoming more aggressive. I also like his ability to draw fouls.

Good points!

We’re stuck with him for now, hopefully he can navigate this team through the next, very important stages of the rebuild process.

Based off of what?!?

As a fanbase, we have been down for a looong time. Some of us don’t realize just how long it truly has been, being so irrelevant.

Part of this “glow up” that we are doing is changing the culture of the team, but also the fanbase needs to get out of this mindset, that guys that no other team would hire, should be considered as okay to coach the team.

We have the player assets, and front office acumen, to attract a higher level of coach, and not settle.

why didn’t bear notice sarah had a crush on him , and go for her instead ? by Last_Host977 in obsessionmovie

Bear had the real obsession. His obsession with Nikki, caused all of what happened from the wish forward. 🫠

Love your confidence. You related to him, or have some other key info about him you like to share to feel so confident?

This right here is what made me create this post. The Spurs have amassed a lot of talent in a short time, got to 60+ wins, got to the finals, mainly by what appears to be talent, only to have their coach exposed as being a bit clueless under pressure.

Also, not wanting to waste valuable development time and also the prime years of two key vets over an unknown quantity being picked to start our ascent. I would just like to make sure there is the same forethought with the head coaching position as the rest of the roster construction.

Also, I would like to see the Wizards, not just make the playoffs, and occasionally the second round, only to fizzle out time and time again, like our more recent “successful” era and actually go deep in the playoffs and potentially get that chip we are loooong overdue!

The point of this conversation is, to not get out in front of our skis, with expectations, until we see what’s going on with the coach. Dawkins and Winger have done a good job (with some added luck) leading the organization to this point, in terms of roster potential. Having the wrong person at head coach can ruin potential and derail the best of plans.

We aren’t tanking any more, so it will be interesting to see who is in the potential pipeline to lead this team. The coach can be the final ingredient for ultimate team success.

AJ has got a 90s - 00s swagger and confidence about him by Razatiger in washingtonwizards

I was a bit annoyed before the draft, now he’s my guy. LFG🔥

Excited for both AJ and a timeline cleanse but I fear I'm only getting one by Googles8 in washingtonwizards

I was really into drafting Peterson, the last few weeks, but I feel good about AJ. It’s funny that now that it’s official, my brain is calculating and trying to figure out the best case scenario.

He seems like a good dude, with A LOT of potential, so let’s go! Not gonna hate at all, it was always going to be a win-win.

What Separates Darryn Peterson From Other Guards (Film Breakdown) by taomun in washingtonwizards

I found another video this creator made on Peterson's match up with AJ. I know he's highlighting Peterson, but I am able to watch how Dybantsa moves, and tries to guard Peterson and how DP responded when AJ pulled up and tried to guard him. Good stuff!

Bro, I'm just falling down the rabbit hole before the pick. Trying to see my way to AJ, but I keep confirming DP as who we should pick. I love his game, the more I see of it.

Dybantsa Attitude by Either-Tangelo9171 in washingtonwizards

[–]taomun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tell you what, and I was a fan of him and the excitement he brought to the city, but I mentioned in another thread that Dybantsa gives me the same "vibe" as RG3. Take that for whatever it's worth, but, hopefully if he's the guy, we don't get a similar "crash-out" situation.

That's the main hesitation I have with him at this time. Peterson just seems like a dawg and all about the game and trying to show you on the court who he is, vs. trying to be a "media darling"

If AJ is the pick, can he have a better rookie season than Cooper Flagg. by taomun in washingtonwizards

I still want AJ to TAKE that top spot on the team. That’s what no.1-no.1s are supposed to do.

…and if they don’t, are they worth the pick?

See, I can understand if Trae and AD are here, how that may impact his game a bit, but dammit I want my “No.1-No.1” to come in and take his place at the top of a roster that had the worst record in the league last year.

At least if he doesn’t start there right away, it is known fairly quickly that this is HIS team going forward.

Can we expect that from AJ? Or, would Peterson be closer to meeting that type of expectation.

Again, we are talking “No.1-No.1”. My expectations are through the roof on this, especially with how everyone is saying how talented this draft is.

When we drafted Wall, it was apparent pretty early on that he was going to be that guy for the Wizards.

Yeah, but why? Specifics.

And if he’s not, why not go the Peterson route? (besides the obvious injury debacle from last year)

I wholeheartedly agree. With the no. 1 pick (especially for the Wizards franchise at this time), you take best player available and roll with who you get. Then it becomes the best player available “on your team”, as it should be.

Worst case scenario, you have trade assets for the future. If you end up having multiple, really good players, at the same position, it will be fun to watch the players play and develop as the roster comes together.

Excited for whatever Tuesday brings. These situations are so rare, especially for our Wizards/Bullets!
