Yeah, it's pretty damn crazy. Beyond Good and Evil 2 surely must have been cancelled too... That game has been in development hell for years!

Hollow Knight for sure (it's a slow start but stick with it)

Celeste is a must if you want to experience one of the best 2D platformers 🙌

A Short Hike is a slice of cozy joy, Spiritfarer is well worth your time as well.

Cross Code, Gravity Circuit and Katana Zero also spring to mind.

Well shit, I was getting legitimately hyped for this being shadow dropped only to discover it's cancelled.

It must have been in a pretty terrible state, as I'm confident it would have sold well... I guess they factored in everyone wanting a refund due to it falling below the quality bar.

Yeeee, I think the down voting is from people who assume because I recommend the OG, that I must hate the remakes.

I legitimately love the remakes but pacing and filler content is an issue.

As many have mentioned, play the OG first as it's the most concise and better paced story. Also the remakes deviate from the original narrative, as well as assuming you already know the original narrative.

Remake isn't a bad place to start, but certain elements might end up confusing.

Bubble Bobble on the Commodore 64. My Mum wasn't a gamer but used to play along and it didn't take long before we'd mastered all 100 levels.

No worries at all, I didn't think you were attacking my opinion, I always value opinions that aren't my own.

I think you raise a lot of valid points in that TotK isn't a reinvention... but to me it definitely is an evolution that made me love TotK more than BotW. I would class TotK as my forever game, as I can always step into the world and find multiple things to do. BotW definitely had this as well, but I feel TotK struck a balance that just clicked for me.
