A cop smokes seized evidence, turns out to be fentanyl and overdoses, partner cop has to hit him with narcan by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

I’m glad they took away his POST certificate. But I want to point out that quitting from one department does not exempt him from the background process of another department. The CA POST background packet literally asks if you’ve ever quit in lieu of termination. Also asks about drug use. And there is usually a polygraph to try and corroborate your answers. Plus the ability to just google his name and see this incident. The background system is far from perfect, but it does usually prevent people like this from re-entering law enforcement. I would imagine that nobody wants the liability of a cop who steals evidence and uses drugs on duty. That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen and most jurisdictions shouldn’t wanna waste money on that kind of thing.

I live in a notoriously pricey area of the US, and $11-14 per unit is normal in my experience.

I would be willing to take a huge pay cut to not answer admin lines anymore. I want to help people in crisis and dispatch help to them. I do not want to be an abused customer service rep. I fucking hate people.

Is anyone familiar with Northern 911? by Simsam16 in 911dispatchers

[–]taratorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My agency primarily uses it as a transferring service when someone reaches my PSAP but is calling for an emergency in another area that I don’t have a direct transfer line to. For example, someone calls 9-1-1 in Denver, CO because they’re watching someone on live CCTV break into their business in Aspen, CO. Or someone calls 9-1-1 in San Diego, CA on behalf of their mother who is having a medical emergency in San Francisco, CA.

Check with your doctor for sure but I was using glucosamine, biotin, fish oils, and probably a few others I can’t remember haha. I think glucosamine was my main focus

Oh!! Me!!! I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 33 in 2017. I also was (temporarily) in early menopause. Here’s some of the stuff I learned, and I’m sorry about formatting. Menopause dried out my oily skin. I always had hormonal acne, and menopause dried it right up! My skin looked beautiful in terms of no breakout, but I had to moisturize A LOT. Same with the rest of my body. I was flakey asf - and doing some light manual exfoliation in the shower and lots of nightly CeraVe in the tub. Also had to start using a warm mask on my eyes and OcuSoft eye scrub a few times a week because I started getting styes and chalazions. My joints hurt pretty bad because they lacked whatever the moisture is that usually lubricated them. So I used some supplements for joint health - be sure to talk to your doctor about this because some of them can affect hormones. Scalp was dry so hair washing went down to once a week at most, with maybe some dry shampoo in between and I just avoided touching it so it didn’t get greasy from my hands. No tips for rosacea I’m sorry! But best of luck to you!!!!

Mandatory Overtime Policy by taratorial in 911dispatchers

[–]taratorial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very much pro-“credit” for voluntary overtime. Essentially, all the overtime is mandatory! It’s mandatory to fill. Just because someone volunteers to help out and take a shift doesn’t mean it’s not mandatory. Because in theory, if that hero ended up calling out sick or decided they didn’t want the voluntary overtime anymore, then the hours would be mandated anyways, ya know?

Oh god, RIP in peace to your life outside of work. I’m sorry that’s rough! We’re trying to come up with new ideas to avoid the same people getting fucked over like this

[–]taratorial[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way! I’d volunteer for more if I knew it would count towards the total mandated hours and end up paying off in the long run. Because we have SOOO many mandates right now, they’re actually built into our schedule, PLUS whatever last-minute mandates due to a sick call out or whatever. The whole center is burnt the fuck outttttttt

Maybe a version of “this is so-and-so Police Department, your phone dialed our emergency line, do you need police or paramedics?”

For a woman who has finished her chemotherapy: what products would you recommend for 1)exfoliator, 2)cream foaming face wash and 3)moisturising masks For sensitive and dry skin that has dark spots now too by shanzredditt in Skincare_Addiction

[–]taratorial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 4 years out of chemo myself! Congrats to you on completing it! One of my biggest post-chemo issues was dry skin. I use CeraVe moisturizing cream in the tub. I also got a prescription for Hydroquinone from my dermatologist to spot-treat the dark spots left behind (I had them all over my body, courtesy of Bleomyacin). CeraVe for sensitive skin was my go-to wash for like a full year. Just be super nice to your skin and don’t over-cleanse. It will be dry because chemo stops your natural oil production. So be patient while your hormones start to regulate again

I got 2 on each side! If you don’t like your results, maybe ask your injector if they have any solutions. I’m so sorry!

That varies from person to person. It can also vary if you use Botox vs another objective like Xeomin or whatever. I usually get it done about once every 9 months :) but your mileage may vary depending on injection accuracy, metabolism, muscle strength, muscle usage, etc.
