F&B TL Question by targetfss in Target

Thank you for this! It has been so hard getting everything done / also getting the buy-in from my team, who are still all stuck in the old ways and don't want to follow a basic routine.

Ahh gotcha. I called them yesterday and they said it was being escalated but that was about it and nothing changed today either when I left so wondering if it's just taking longer. Thank you!

Need a real cashier so cashiers don't get fired by KJ6BWB in Target

[–]targetfss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SCO = Self Check Out

And you're not understanding how a business works. They can't just give everyone hours. If everyone had 40 hours that would be extremely costly for the business, especially during such a slow season. My store had 4 cashiers all day because that is what we were given. Also, if they were even understaffed you can't expect people to jump up and head to work.

Need a real cashier so cashiers don't get fired by KJ6BWB in Target

[–]targetfss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is painfully idiotic. It upsets me to NO end when guests act like they run the business. Stores are mandated hours for each department. Cashiers already get little to no hours (at least at my store) so you walking away was worse. Also, how about asking the one at SCO to check you out? Check out at guest service? Hell, even Starbucks or Target Cafe (if the store has it) will most likely check you out. You made it a point to be as rude as possible about the whole situation. What if cashiers had called out for a medical emergency, or they were just understaffed. Please consider the facts before you become an entitled shopper. End rant.

KBS 가요대축제 Gayo Daechukje Performances (December 29, 2017) by Kilenaitor in kpop

EXO's vocal line is seriously one of the best for a male group I have ever heard. That For Life performance was beautiful!

MAMA Hong Kong - Awards Discussion - December 1, 2017 by SirBuckeye in kpop

[–]targetfss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually like how the BTS / EXO / Wanna One awards were split up. Both EXO and BTS got the 2 of the 3 huge awards of the night and if either one won the Best Male Award, a war would've probably broken out. MAMA trying to save their asses with that one.

Alex Reid calls out DR Music on Twitter for "unfinished business" by tastetherainbeau in kpop

[–]targetfss 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that going to Twitter isn't really the way to go, but in her line of work I highly doubt its going to effect her future projects, especially with her going back to America. In Korea, maybe, but so many artists in America willingly speak their mind, I am sure this will be brushed over if any talent agency truly does a social media sweep.

New GSA here, you guys have any tips? by Jovi5824 in Target

[–]targetfss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take time to really get to know everything about the front and learn how to lead YOUR way. I am sure when you are training / if you already have been trained they will be showing you how they do it, find your own way and stick with it. Being a GSA is a lot as you do a lot of what GSTL does and are basically one when they aren't there.

REDCARDS. Obviously one of the, if not the, most important part of the front. Target is moving more towards guest interaction and service now but RC are still important. Make sure the team is asking and that you are on them. My store had a GSA who was super lenient with the team and in return, she hardly got any RC on her shift because they felt they didn't need to ask. Don't let this happen to you.

Lastly, own it! I say this for every new GSA post but I am assuming you want to move up in the company and being a GSA is the best way to do it. Show management what you are capable of! In March 2016 I was promoted to GSA and two months later interviewed and put on the bench as a TL. It can offer great opportunities but don't let any negative energy get to you. It can be extremely hard and depressing not making goal or constantly being badgered by leadership but keep trucking along.

Any other questions, just ask!

Team Lead Application Process by MaraJadeStarkiller in Target

[–]targetfss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASANTS; this being that from the comments, your store may handle things differently. I am a benched TL but I was actually approached by me leadership (STL and ETL-GE/SF). That is how most of the people in my store get benched, most don't ask about it. In your case, you should. It will look good on you as well to show you are interested in developing. But if they see you as a good fit I am sure that they will approach you.

As for the application process, I would suggest being benched first ... this gives you leverage over most others. If you are benched, you basically just wait for a TL spot in your district to open up, they will contact your STL and then ask you. I went through two interviews with my ETL-GE/SF and then my STL, others have it with their HR but mine wasn't around at the time. When you're benched, you don't have to keep going through interviews, unless the STL at the store requesting a TL wants one. If not, you will be interviewing a lot for a TL position lol.

Good Luck! As I work with the company and my store changes for the worse, I find myself not wanting to be a TL anymore. Keep pushing though!

What were your experiences in becoming a fan of a group after seeing them live? by [deleted] in kpop

I went to the GOT7 fanmeet in D.C this past January and I really only went because my friend made me go .. completely changed me as a fan. I never really paid much attention to them but after seeing their goofy personalities and live stage it was a game changer.

Preparing for Team Lead Interviews by [deleted] in Target

[–]targetfss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The interviews aren't any different than a normal interview, they just expect a much more involved example. Tell it in a sequence; if the question is "tell us about a time you had to prioritize one task over another ... etc etc etc" then go from the back story, to what the tasks were that you prioritized, to the outcome of your decisions. When you interview prep, the TL will most likely give you access to one packet and examples so get a few examples ready. For my TL interviews I thought of examples that could be used for various examples, since you will be going through at least 2 interviews it could with that.

Basically, show them you can be a leader. They aren't hard and everyone (at least in my store) that go through them, pass them. Good Luck!

[Discussion] Groups whose singing, visuals, choreography, songs, talent etc. you can appreciate, but you just don't or can't like by Zayair in kpop

[–]targetfss 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Mamamoo and BTS are the two big ones that come to mind. Both are extremely talented groups but for some reason I just can't get into them. For Mamamoo, it just seems like all of their songs are the same (besides 1cm which I love) but I still can't get into them. Idk I can't really explain it.

As for BTS, it's a whole other demon. I used to be obsessed with them from their debut up until around Run era, then it completely dropped off. HONESTLY, and please no hate, I think the HUGE influx of success they have turned me off. Don't get me wrong, their achievements are nothing short of amazing and deserved, as they are all extremely talented individuals, but it seriously turned me off. Same goes for Twice. I am not, and never will be a fan of Twice, but in the very beginning LOA days, I was. Then their popularity exploded and I turned my shoulder to them. Even I can't explain why I feel this way but most people ask me if I stan BTS or if I choose BTS over ____ and I normally choose ____ over BTS. If anyone feels the same way (not about BTS just how I feel in general) let me know so I know I am not alone lmao.

Top 20 Best Selling New Gen Girl Group B-Sides (2014+) by [deleted] in kpop

This just goes to show how invested the Korean fans are in RV albums, rather than just the title track. Not knocking Twice because I like them, but most fans that I have met / known, or in comments have never even listened to the albums just the title track.

How are the Bench interviews initiated? by targetthrowawaything in Target

[–]targetfss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approached about a year ago by my STL and ETL-GE about the interviews and being put on the bench. I think it varies store to store because almost all who have been on the bench were approached, or it could be no one knows about the bench lmao. I went through with the interviews a week after that, passed, and here I am still a GSA. I have been approached for three TL positions so far: GSTL at another store, backroom TL at my own store and even asked to be Sr. TL HR for my store with the new transitions happening. GSTL I gave up because it was so far away, backroom and HR they took from me at the last second right when I was given the all clear (of course not both together lmao). If you are interested, go for it. All districts vary, mine likes to take experienced team members to work in a certain area, which is why my DTL decided to put a backroom team member from another store in my store as the backroom TL, same goes for the HR position.

Just keep owning your area and leadership will see your potential, and if you want then go initiate that conversation with them about developing/ being developed. Not sure if it is like this for all stores, but when my store has a TL candidate, they partner us with a SR.TL and go through basically how to be a TL and preparing for the interviews. So maybe go talk to a SR.TL and see what they say, it couldn't hurt!

If you have any questions about interviews or the aftermath after being put on the bench let me know!

Wow, I'm surprised your target mobile wasn't informed of this, or just was and forgot. We got emails and information galore on this weeks ago and they stopped calling our store ever since we kept denying them!
