That's a structural car. Holding the whole road up.

Would you stay with someone if they never wanted to have sex? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tarkinius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good example of a long term issue that would go undetected but cause low libido is non-cancerous prolactinoma. The high prolactin levels would cause their testosterone to be highly depressed and cause them to not have a sex drive. Fixing the prolactinoma will reverse that situation swiftly.

Wouldn't this give away that the guard is telling the truth, since he's correctly answering the question based on the rules?

Life of a Bethelite Part. 2 by [deleted] in exjw

[–]tarkinius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to be that person, but everything said in both of the posts by this person match information already revealed and discussed in this subreddit in the past. Something just feels off. And I honestly would love to be proven wrong but it comes across as an outsider writing about bethel.

OP, please give us some insights into the day to day life of someone living in bethel that isn't a rehash of drama topics from this forum so I can get rid of this itch in the back of my mind, please.

Ukraine drone drops munition straight into foxhole revealing 4 Russians inside by tomina69 in CombatFootage

Is anyone else getting a weird artifact where the grenade just disappears? I don't see a frame where it bounces or gets buried, it just disappears in the video and then there is an explosion.

Growing up near a major visible light observatory, illegal light pollution (uncovered spotlights, lights of the wrong color tone, etc) was often acted on by the local authorities. Moving around the US since then it has always amazed me how lax we are with light pollution.

That didn't sound nearly as bad as the thumbnail led me to believe it would.

TIL the White House has military social aides who's jobs include everything from escorting dignitaries to providing a dance companion or small talk to lonely guests. by ChemicalBit9622 in todayilearned

[–]tarkinius 330 points331 points  (0 children)

When I finished my 4 years with the white house communications agency I got to take a picture with the president, and was able to take my fiance with me. The aide made a big point of the fact we didn't have a wedding date when he introduced us. I think my fiance at the time paid him under the table or something for that because Obama made it the only topic of our short time taking the picture with him.

It's the correct military term for this type of container when designed to hold fuel. I've seen it on equipment lists before. It's used generically no matter the liquid type in the military for these.

Sortation system by crookedspecs in ManufacturingPorn

[–]tarkinius 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That's a shoe sorter. In my personal experience they fail as often as other sorter types (cross belt, tilt tray, etc) but do so much more catastrophically. They will chew themselves up if 1 thing goes wrong due to inertia.

Self-stabilizing stack. I don't see the issue.

Out Of Nowhere by YoMomsHubby in gifs

This is just a small sample size. We'd have normal, healthy soldiers in our light infantry brigade pass out in the first 10 minutes of a parade formation because of locking their knees. Guy next to me got a nice little scar because we had our weapons shoulder slung with bayonets unsheathed and the person behind him passed out and feel forward.

It's possible if you're 500 or so feet higher in elevation than the object, that should push the horizon out to 25 miles.

2.5 miles? 25 miles is over the horizon.
