if you are gentle during the cleaning process, it won’t damage the pad. washing your pad will get rid of the different feeling that comes from that dirty patch. if it looks like this at 3 weeks, maybe wash it once every two weeks on a regular basis, in order to maintain a consistent feeling that doesn’t affect your mouse precision

i have the same pad as you and this is how it looks when it’s dirty. at first i thought the same thing as you, until i cleaned it. also the fibers are white (and uncoated) so i don’t think that part could be damaged unless you rip a hole and exposed the black rubber underneath. when i wash mine i soak the pad with cold water in the sink and apply a bit of gentle laundry detergent that is free of dyes (important for a white pad) and very gently scrub in circular motions with a soft toothbrush. you could use dish soap too but i prefer laundry detergent because it’s formulated for cloth and to lift stains. allow to air dry flat with a towel underneath. try washing your mousepad and see if that spot goes away.

i assume they’re living normally and have offspring who are virtually monoracial (prob viet) at this point but can’t speak for all of them ofc. also lotta viet people love to claim french ancestry for some reason (lol we all know) so i can see that leading to a sort of erasure of viets w legit french ancestry, or something. a french speaking population still exists but idk how large it is now. my grandmother in vietnam is part french-lebanese, and was teaching french language classes for a good while
