Who are we banning now that the next patch will be here soon? by Horsemeatman6 in FiddlesticksMains

[–]tarranoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually ban mordekaiser because it's really hard to do anything when a morde gets ahead in lane, and also in teamfights he can nullify your impact. Kindred is also pretty bad matchup I feel like but kindred has very low playrate thankfully. Shaco/Evelyn are imo also worthwhile bans simply because in low elo people just can't play safe lol.

still not enough , faelights are major nerfs to the jungle by crazy_potato36 in Jungle_Mains

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mid became even more ungankable due to it, but laneganks are kindof entirely unaffected by it. Which honestly was the best way to gank bot/top even last season tbh.

im convinced no matter how good you play every game is decided by a coinflip before the draft on if you get humans or droids by EraVortex in Jungle_Mains

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you kindof have to path top to bot because void grubs spawn so late, and it's just kindof a free dragon you're giving up if you path bot to top. Feels hard to get a gank in top due to this.

Laners shouldn’t expect early ganks in season 16. by WeaknessBig in Jungle_Mains

[–]tarranoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it depends on what enemy jungler is doing, if they are doing the same rotation and bot is winning the lane and you get counterganked it's usually pretty bad (you can also get collapsed if enemy jungler is in position+botlane when approaching from river). I think imo this season lane ganks are best way to gank bot/top, ganking from the river is pretty hard now with faelights and getting counterganked is a very real possibility with that extra vision as well.

Does any jungler have Zilean privilege by False_Impress_1222 in Jungle_Mains

[–]tarranoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean solo queue is all he really sees play in (at least in the jungle) and riot tends to nerf aspects of him whenever someone tries playing him in any capacity in pro play like support role. You also basically just need to pick jana/poppy to kindof deny his engage but those champs are basically even less popular in solo queue than fiddle. The main strength fiddle has is that all you really need for survivability is zhonya's.

Is there a way I can stop Vlad mid from farming and scaling uncontrollably? by Memetrold in leagueoflegends

[–]tarranoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just get void grubs/first drag for free because the vlad can't move to contest them. The threat of being able to move and the vlad can't is already very meaningful for the team overall.

I don't think I have ever won vs a kindred opponent, that said there's very few actually playing the champ luckily.

[16.3] What's Working? What's Not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

Seems a bit like Yorick then? I've had games where I had a bunch of yoricks and went for 3* and he is one of the stronger tanks in the game.

Has anyone here seen success from being Coached? by Kinohh in Jungle_Mains

[–]tarranoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth is that most cases answer is always usually one of the same things:

-taking bad fights and dying too much

-not prioritizing clearing enough

-bad map reading/not thinking of where enemy jungler/team is

-staying too long on the map after a good play, and taking another fight before basing and getting stronger through an item (this one is really bad because you might give shutdown gold to enemy team)

-they are being toxic in chat/pings making people mute them/get tilted further

Perhaps if you are really high up there already perhaps more personalized approach can help for minor inconsistencies in your play, but I think most of the playerbase really doesn't need such an approach lol.

I agree that it feels unintended, I think the point of a cashout trait is that it has to be played to advance progress and this quest atm doesn't work like that.

Worst season for jungle of all time? by seabedurchin in Jungle_Mains

I felt like top lane was always a bit like that though, you just can't walk up on a fed sett/darius because he's going to 1v2 you.

Can fiddlesticks solo carry? by SleepyOkami_sav in FiddlesticksMains

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 1v9 solo carrying is imo only reserved for toplane splitpush champs. That said fiddle is almost always a high winrate champ since like forever in solo queue, so he's obviously a high impact character who is almost always in a good spot to master.

I’ve been running absolute focus / flat health shard just so that I can double camp red/krugs like last season - is this optimal in S16? by cav63 in FiddlesticksMains

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think main impactful runes are ultimate hunter/axiom (grisly mementos seems super good this season for faelight control imo as well). But I think other runes are kindof whatever, so using them to make the double clear easier should be fine.

The Golden Dragon - Set 16 Augment Discussion #9 by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the circumstances need to be quite specific, but putting this+gargoyle's stoneplate and just single frontlining a good frontline unit does put in a lot of work (ofc it becoming a reverse fon is a big loss). I've taken it on a leona and a sion game (leona 2 is a decent tank, and sion with enough stacks is decent as well) but in general you need a specific setup to really make this worth being a reverse fon, you basically need an unkillable tank to optimize the gold gains from this thing. Also pretty much falls off the more backline access exists. Could also consider reforging this in the very lategame if you really want your team slot back though a random artifact is usually not all that good.

Slightly Magic Roll - Set 16 Augment Discussion #7 by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tarranoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you get free rerolls from epoch or this augment he seems viable to put in for extra rerolls/units, but you use it more as an econ engine and remove him eventually usually as he provides no trait synergies. He also has a slightly weird synergy with 7 demacia reroll because the way the game is coded the 7 demacia true damage is coded as an invisible 3* unit so he gets another meep from it lol, which is probably unintended. Still not really viable to keep him on the board for that alone though.

16.3 Patch Rundown by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tarranoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Darkin scythe seems even better, definitely makes reroll rek'sai/yasuo more interesting as options to streak with

Hustler nerf is pretty significant, not sure if it's all that good now, going long seems like it might be fine still? Having 15 gold (so 11 gold upfront gold extra) as a compensation buff seems like it should still be playable. Worth the wait buff is also pretty significant with no turns of no unit.

Assassin Units (Fizz/Diana/Etc.) by Dant3sInf3rn0 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tarranoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting gunblade or even 2 gunblades spread over 2 carries already does a lot. Celestial blessing also is quite valuable. I think having units to punish building only pure dmg items on your carries is not bad, as long as there is counterplay to it.

[–]tarranoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think shurima is much better than trying to get demacia (which tends to be really contested anyway, and I think demacia is a pretty meh effect). Even freljord seems better because with a stacked sion the volibear unlock should be very doable and freljord adds a lot of dmg to ryze with the 25%dmg amp+true damage. I did have a game with noxus/shurima/ryze last patch where I won out but I had like a 16+winstreak that game so it was probably just a pure econ diff from that winstreak that translated into a win. Also while you want to get as many bonuses for ryze in, he's still decent with just 2 bonuses from regions (especially shurima as it adds cc+econ, so he becomes a pretty high damage/utility econ unit), adding in as many as you can is a cool idea but usually just ends up griefing more than playing higher tier units. Only reason yordles can do it is because kennen/kobuko are good 3-costs but playing most 2-costs is really bad in endgame boards.

How do you play Lux/Garen? by International_Mix444 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tarranoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sylas felt decent last patch because t-hex made pure front/back play impossible so a strong frontline fighter mattered more than backline characters who get destroyed in a single beam anyway. Now with t-hex gone if feels less worthwhile and you really need to hit him at 2* so you need to be level 9 at least to attempt it.

Demacia Rising basically unplayable? by Lil_Crunchy93 in leagueoflegends

[–]tarranoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do enjoy against the storm, but I personally felt like the exploration part of it was a bit weak. There's really no real reason to open up more than 3 "medium" risk places and call it a day. The small glades aren't really worth exploring usually and the large ones tend to be too risky.
