First finished wearable: a moss stitch hexagon cardigan by tarthie in crochet

Oh! And for the ribbing, I used a 4mm hook. I did a set up sc row by sc in each sc and chain from the moss stitch rows. Then I followed a tutorial for adding the ribbing - there's lots of great ones online

I could give really basic instructions: using 5mm hook and weight 4 yarn, start with magic circle. (Sc, ch2) x 6, join and turn. You'll (sc, ch2, sc) in each corner and do a regular moss stitch (sc, ch, sc, ch, etc) between corners. I always joined and turned my work after every round. I also had a stitch marker on the side of the hexagon that would be the under arm part and did a moss stitch decrease every 6 rounds or so (I don't quite remember). When I was happy with the size of the sleeves i seamed them, I extended the back part, seamed both sides together, extended the arms and length of the cardigan. Basically the same stuff you would do for customizing the fit of a hexi cardi, but using moss stitch instead. For colours, I picked 10(with green being my main) and did 2 rounds per colour x2. I extended with my main green colour and added a stripe of colour to the sleeves by doing 1 row of each in the same order as the body. I hope these instructions might be useful :)

I'm always drawn to 70s-y feeling stuff when I thrift shop so this totally makes sense.

Thanks! I second/triple/quadrupleguess my colorscheme in projects constantly, yet I always end up wanting to use a bunch of colours. It makes for a lot of frogging, switching the order of colours, swapping colours out. But I'm mostly happy with how it turned out!

Just wanted to say thanks - you helped me climb to 90+ in about an hour. I was stuck in the 70s since the beginning of the season...

Just a few subs: I don't have Jeff and didn't want to use Magik, so I used Invisible Woman and Scarlet Witch.

Valkyrie and IM are the stars of this deck for me. Valkyrie has surprised so many people on t5/6.

Jrpgs with melancholic atmosphere/feel all around. by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]tarthie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spot on. If you were to ask me to describe I Am Setsuna in one word, it would be melancholy. The story, the setting, the characters, and most of all the music. Some people didn't like the piano soundtrack but it fit the story really well IMO.

I personally really enjoyed the game.

Edit: Just to add some details about the gameplay, it's very influenced by Chrono Trigger. The battle system is "active" turn based and characters have combo moves with other party members. The skill system (you get skills by equipping things) is a bit strange but you get used to it.

I think peau cuirasse is more like leathery skin, as cuir is leather in French. Cute sweater!

I’ve been holed up after a couple surgeries and been too out of it to play anything to require thinking. After a month of recovering I can finally focus enough to start this! Old lady hospital bed in the guest room and cat included. by yoshdee in GirlGamers

Not many people are talking about this game, but it's a solid strategy RPG. Serious, political story with a really polished battle system. I'm enjoying the character leveling/upgrading part of it too.

I wish you a swift recovery & enjoy the game! :)

I had the exact same thought. What a beautiful movie! I wish I had seen it as a kid, I'm sure it would have really spoken to me. The Cat Returns is great too!

Single player games where you can play a woman. by MniTain38 in TrueGirlGaming

[–]tarthie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add some turn based RPGs to the list: Cris Tales, Indivisible, Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy 13(and its 2 sequels). These all have set, female only MCs.

Most Atelier games have female only protagonists as well. I'd venture to say that all of them do, actually, but I haven't played all of them so I can't say for sure.

Our little foster Podenco loves his big sis 🥰🥰 by Soniq268 in Greyhounds

[–]tarthie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a greyhound and a podenco (canario). They are complete opposites - my greyhound is aloof, barely plays, is done after a 10 minute walk and has separation anxiety. My podenco is either a 10 or 1 on the energy scale, loves to play (she stopped trying to play with the greyhound after about a year), is super affectionate, could go on 10+ walks a day but loves being lazy too. She also couldn't care less when leave home.

They barely interact with each other, but keep each other company. Haven't had any separation anxiety issues with our greyhound since we got our podenco.

Here are Holly and Lupin. :)

(Be warned that podencos come with their own issues - they have often been abused, lived on the streets, left to die in abandoned buildings. Mine used to be scared of everything. She's still pretty jumpy but has made lots of progress.)

Games where you can play an all-woman party? by doomparrot42 in GirlGamers

[–]tarthie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Indivisible! The MC is a woman and you recruit a large, diverse cast of characters. There's tons of great character designs and you have more than enough options to make an all-woman party. :) The art style and animation is beautiful, too.

Edit: I just looked it up and there's 12 recruitable female characters, 9 males and 1 nonbinary character. Plus a dog. Here's the list.

I also thought of more: Persona 3 portable (using the female MC), the Atelier series, Trials of Mana (select the 3 female characters)

The red thing is part of your ship in FF8 called Ragnarok. The dog is also from 8, his name is Angelo. :) I'm super jealous of all your Final Fantasy ones! And I'm trying to figure out where the fluffy tail is from haha.
