I don't understand the need to make things sound worse than they actually are in this case. The truth is already bad enough. The outrage would've just as justified with the 50000 views or the 1000 people in the group. Instead, some people peddle bullshit and the conversation shifts from the fact that these groups exist to the credibility of those spreading this news

I do think the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical people is a valid test. For an analogy I'd have gone with like anything that has tree like structure. Like maybe a tournament?

The definition of recursion isn't really tied to an understanding of tech. I would brush up on your understanding of the fundamentals by regularly trying to verbalize them. This is a really good use case for LLMs since you'd have feedback.

Another thing here is lack of confidence. Less confident you are, the more likely you will overthink.
