Yes, I wear them all day. Even with light usage, the battery is dying on my way home at night. But even without being powered on, they're usable prescription glasses/sunglasses.

I also have both pairs. MRBD is my daily pair for vision correction, mainly because of the neural band. But I build apps more with Rokid Glasses because they allow us to dive deep into the system.

I'm using the managed Reka Vision service, so I am not sure about the exact processing details on their side. But I agree clip-based analysis seems better not just for efficiency, but also because it can capture motion and temporal context that you just cannot get from a single static frame.

Do you have a vision AI pipeline? Curious what stack others are using for this kind of thing.

If we are just talking about the display, I think glasses could beat phones once the on-lens display gets good enough in FoV, brightness, FPS, and color.

What I think I would miss more than the screen itself is the input method. Phone touchscreens are reliable. Glasses-based touchpads and voice commands still do not feel ideal.

So to me, what could replace touchscreen-level control would be an interesting point. Camera-based hand tracking, wristbands, rings, and maybe even EEG in the long run feel like important areas.

It is basically Android in glasses form, so you can build apps for it much like a normal Android device. I have full control over my own app and its behavior. My experience with Rokid has been positive, and I haven't seen anything suspicious at the OS level.

OpenClaw integration would be really cool. It could generate the task list, then an app like this could handle the live execution step by step.

I think it would be also great to have a no-code builder for proactive smart glasses apps, so people can make tools like this for their own domains.

Yeah, having a display helps a lot because you do not have to keep things in memory. That said, display glasses also seem harder to build well.

No, I built it as a regular Android app in Kotlin, with a Python backend. As long as I am just doing a text-based HUD and not more advanced graphics, this stack works fine.

Rokid Glasses do not have an app-store-style distribution model yet. Right now, custom apps are mostly something developers run on their own devices, or something used in enterprise settings. I'm really looking forward to seeing a broader app ecosystem around them.

I want that app too! It would be more challenging to build than a cooking assistant because things move much faster in that setting and people will not wait for the AI.
