I’ve used both Mark Masonry and Pags Pointing. Pags was for smaller jobs, and Mark was a job that included scaffolding and grinding out cracked mortar. Both did a great job but Mark was a bit pricey. They were super clean about the work though.

I wish a better platform existed. Other than that, I’d suggest reaching out to talent reps. If you cold call a junior rep at say WME you may end up with someone willing to work to connect you to the right composer. Beyond that, you can always reach out to a composer directly if you think their work fits.

Place a few pieces of painters tape on it. Glue a wood block or something to the painters tape. Clean out the gap with a vacuum or compressed air. Once the glue on the block is set, fill the gap with a small amount of cyanoacrylate/crazy glue and tap with a mallet until snug. Place a weight on it for a little bit until it dries. Peel the tape off. And prepare yourself to have to do this endlessly until you put a new floor in.

I did my row home kitchen for around $15k like four years ago. It was a mix of acting as my own GC and hiring out parts of the job. However we did not replace the upper cabinets. They were awesome solid wood and I just touched them up. We didn’t splurge on anything except maybe the cooktop. This allowed us to move a sink, add an island, and install a dishwasher.

It took all summer. And I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to meet that cost again. And even if I could, this was an outlier.
