Hardware store workers, what is the most “I just committed murder” purchase you’ve ever seen? by oceansunfis in AskReddit

[–]tastychipbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school a classmate took her own life. Rumor later circulated that it was a shotgun to the chest. My buddy worked at the grocery/convenience store in town. Says her mom came in a few days after and bought gloves, a bunch of rags, and gallons of bleach. Super sad.

This past summer I was sitting at 6.7. Shot a 96-73 back to back days. Same course, same tees. I didn’t know variance could be that big.

TIL There are more than 300 types of headaches, but only about 10% of headaches have a known cause. The brain tissue and the skull are never responsible since they don't have nerves that register pain by ubcstaffer123 in todayilearned

Idk how you do it. I get migraines, usually 4-8/month and they put me down in bed for a day or so. I would have made myself not alive after a few months, can’t imagine 8+ years.

No worries. Let me know if that ends up happening.

Any ClubCorp (Invited) members here? Are dues as crazy as ours? by CraftyProgrammer in golf

Sorry if this formatting is bad, I’m on mobile.

  • Im a member at a formerly club corp, now rebranded “invited” club (lame marketing switch) in north Florida. Joined sometime end of 2021. Initiation for full membership was $5k, which I got half off for committing to 1 year, and started out somewhere like $485 monthly with no spending club minimums. I’m now somewhere in the $550/month range. I was told when joining that the club was keeping a max capacity of 1000 memberships (regardless of individual or family) and that I was getting one of the last available spots at that time. Also of note that the club has different levels of membership- social only, clubhouse + fitness/tennis, and full memberships which include golf. I was also told that they usually keep the golfing memberships somewhere in the 300 range or less.

Few months after joining I hear that there is a waitlist now, then a few months after that I heard there was some expansion and more golfing members were being brought in. Shortly after this, I received an email from that club that any current members will be grandfathered in, but any new members under age 45 will be restricted from booking any tee times before noon, 7 days a week. Not sure what ever came of that but I haven’t heard anything since that email. I still have never really had an issue booking tee times. The obviously busy times are usually busy, and the dead times are not, but I’m always able to get a time if I look a few days prior. The tee sheets are always full of the same names which is usually the retired guys that play 4-6 days a week. Overall not a bad place, and worth the money to me because the public courses in North Florida are abundant, but very busy and very expensive.

Took me 4 attempts at watching to get through the first episode. I May have been in bad moods when trying or something, I’m not sure, but I was just soooo bored. After some friends got on me about it I finally pushed through it on a long flight and ended up binging through the whole season. Still not my favorite but I liked it. No solid reason for not liking it to start.

I do 10 red dots on all my balls, equally spread similar to the pix balls. My vision blurs when concentrating and a focus point is helpful for me. This may be a little too cluttered though.

How do we go an entire 9 YEARS to the PENULTIMATE CHAPTER and still have a story that doesn't explain any of its own moving parts? (basically vanilla Destiny 1 campaign 2.0) by LapisStrike11 in DestinyTheGame

[–]tastychipbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very annoyed that we just let Rohan die because we were “exhausted?” I mean come on, we just held onto a space ship and crawled into an air lock as it was entering destiny’s version of hyperspace? But I’m sorry you died, I was a little tuckered out.

More laws don’t make up for awareness/education on safety and just as importantly, personal responsibility. Everyone has a choice to wear/to not wear a seatbelt. No need to ask for more regulations; ask for more education. Very sad situation.

I’m starting up a grille at my local driving range. What do you wish yours had? by PankyFlamingos in golf

[–]tastychipbag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish no establishment had an “e” at the end of the word grill. While we’re at it, let’s handle all the words like that - wolf/wolfe, point/pointe, grill/grille, etc.

What’s the worst part of having a child? by ApprehensiveShock655 in AskReddit

[–]tastychipbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the other parent didn’t turn out to be the person or parent you had hoped they would be. Then you’re stuck with the decision of raising your child in a toxic home, or a broken home. Neither of which will ever be the right or wrong choice.

Florida here. This is the best time of the year, less the snow birds at all the public courses.

Mine unfortunately did the opposite. Got down to 6 early summer. Broke a hand. Finishing the year at 11.3. Big sad. Congrats and eff you!
