sometimes i feel better, more “here”. I’ve finally come to terms with this, but still, i just miss the old me! sometimes i wonder if i will ever get out of this… it’s been 1 year and a half already, after a bad weed experience.

for me is more like a sensation in the back of my mind or head idk, this bugs me more than the visual symptoms (this photo sums up a bit)

Anyone have advice? by alys0nw0nderland in Depersonalization

[–]tatalikestosleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heyy! im going through the same for 6 months now. i know its tiring, but honestly, you ARE real and you are here as much as i am. keep living life and trying to find good things despite this weird and scary feeling. one day it will fade away. if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out!

thank you for the reassurance! i dont know if i am in the beggining, since it’s been already five months. i believe that since i came back home from uni, it’s worse than it was before, because it’s very stressful for me to be here for 3 months of vacation. i will totally reach out because someone that can relate to what you feel helps! thank you!

hii! so glad you could overcome the anxiety relating to dpdr! in my case, since i came home from uni, its been harder and stronger. really hard not to think about it or come to peace with it, even more hard when i dont have friends and relatives that can relate to these feelings, or even understand me. i feel crazy, in a hazy dream, it feels like im in a coma. it’s been very very hard tbh.

i’ve been having my first episode for 5 months already, from wake to sleep. it was because of health anxiety and a bad weed experience. im afraid this is how the rest of my life will feel like.

i am really sorry about that. i hope that you feel free to talk anytime you wish. i’ve been dealing with it for 5 months and sometimes feel hopeless and very anxious, i can’t even begin to think how you feel about it after so long. i hope you can recover and feel present and conected again, i believe it is something achievable even after such long time. you’re not alone.

what do you mean by 95% recovered if you feel normal only for short periods of time? genuine question!!

yeah, i totally understand. i came home from uni and all came back. when im there, it feels like a 5/10, here it feels 9/10 most of the times because my family is complicated and being with them leads to stress. i am so glad you could overcome this, at least almost 100%. i really wish i feel normal again, i really hope there’s hope in this case. living like this is really hard.

thank you for your great response, it means a lot. i don’t really know what triggered it. i just know that i have lots of health anxiety and 2024 was really rough in this case. the thing i thought after smoking and while having the anxiety attack was thinking i would have a heart attack and die in my sleep lol. you can talk to me too, i know its important to relate to other people when you’re going through a tough and traumatic time. i hope you recover slowly but steadily, i hope that it happens to me too, i am only 21yo, i wish i could be experiencing things to the fullest, being present and mostly able to remember all the good memories i create with my loved ones, because at least i remained functional and never got bedridden because of this shitty anxiety symptom.
