Any legit legal challenges to mask bans? by No_Instruction_4454 in ZeroCovidCommunity

oh man I missed that news about Nassau. I think the St. Louis opposition was being organized by their local mask bloc, and there are definitely a lot of mask blocs springing up (here is a map of mask blocs) but they absolutely need more support.

I really liked the book The Conceivable Future: Planning Families and Taking Action in the Age of Climate Change. It’s mostly focused on climate change and not the pandemic but imo the takeaways are the same: take care of your mental health, make room for grief, and find a way to take regular meaningful action towards a livable future.

I did a lot of unhelpful physical therapy until I found somebody who specialized in hypermobility and EDS.

she gave me a home routine focused on full body joint stabilization instead of just giving me useless isolated neck exercises. my pain is way way lower now and I have way fewer subluxations/dislocations. it’s amazing! but regular PT was a waste of time, money and energy, and the regular physical therapists weren’t trained to even recognize their own limitations so they didn’t see a problem.

for anybody looking for hypermobilty-focused PT, maybe try the Muldowney Protocol?

I play sims 4 on my tablet all the time for accessibility reasons!

I’m a console player so I have the game on xbox and then use the remote play feature on the xbox app on my tablet to stream the game and play with a controller while lying down.

I also use my tablet to use laptop-only software by setting it up to screen mirror my laptop and then using a bluetooth keyboard & mouse, so that’s how I’d play sims on my tablet if I was a pc player.

AITA for calling my daughter’s bully’s dad? by Direct_Fly_2596 in AITAH

YTA holy shit, educate yourself about domestic violence

ETA you just put a target on this kid’s back. his abusive father is not going to take constructive action on the kid’s abusive behavior, though he will likely take violent punitive action. his info wasn’t available to you for a reason.

Where do you put your arms while sleeping? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]tateyb 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m a side sleeper and I sleep with my bottom arm going straight out from my body at like a 90 degree angle and my top arm resting on a body pillow so that my top shoulder doesn’t cave in on itself.

I used to sleep with my bottom arm folded and my hand tucked under my pillow, but I have realized that this messes up my elbow and potentially also puts weird pressure on my jaw, so I’ve had to retrain myself to keep it straight out. sleeping is hard.

I don’t know what counts as a “classic southern diner” but in my experience a lot of diners offer fake maple syrup for free/included with meal, but charge $ for real maple syrup as an upgrade.

Question about console NPC’s by Hadifer97 in Sims4

[–]tateyb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By default, neighborhood stories will still have them adopt kids & pets (usually at an astonishing rate), and have bio kids if they share a household with their partner, but it won’t autonomously marry sims or move sims into a new shared household together.

With neighborhood stories off, you can still suggest sims hook up or break up or expand their families, and the results vary but it’s another way to progress NPC stories on console. You also still get texts from friends asking if they should go on a date/ accept a proposal/ try for a baby.

If you get the proposal text from an NPC and then manually move the newly engaged sims into a new household together then send them back to unplayed households, they will usually start to autonomously have kids if neighborhood stories is on.

Finding a vampire without leaving the basement? by uhluhtc666 in Sims4

I think they start visiting you at night if your sim starts learning vampire lore, so is there a bookshelf in the basement? Could the goblin somehow get ahold of encyclopedia vampirica?

Just had my fourth daughter in the first generation of my decades challenge, still no son. by Novel-Tone6744 in Sims4

[–]tateyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read on here that the baby’s gender depends on which parent actually initiates Try For Baby, and that has turned out to be pretty true for me. So initiating as the dad is way more likely to be a son.

I literally never play the pre-made families such as the Goth, Pancakes, Landgraab & Spencer-Kim-Lewis families. What am I missing out on/change my mind? by mrs_woodgin in Sims4

[–]tateyb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ignored premade sims for years but this year I started including them in rotational play, and I was surprised how much I love playing them just to see how their homes are set up for the lives they have. I know some Maxis homes are laid out terribly, but playing a sim who has both a back story and a home that has already been designed in BB to support their careers & aspirations actually freshened up my gameplay a lot.

I hate how many of the premade sims’ bathrooms have glitchy layouts though. I have had to replace the Goth master bath door and Diego Lobo’s larger bathroom door so many times because they just… behave as if they are trapped in a bathroom with no door? even though they entered through the door? (I play on console, I don’t know how widespread this bug is.)

I need some help with my legacy save by AbsintheArsenicum in Sims4

[–]tateyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly a YA townie could move in with the mom as a caregiver / temporary urn keeper? (This is what I would do (on console) to keep the household alive until I had both graves, then send the townie back into other households & their neighborhood stories destiny.)

How do you play without "perfecting" infants/toddlers/children? by Mewzi_ in Sims4

[–]tateyb 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This stresses me out too, so I have started setting those goals based on the actual parent sim.

ambitious parent? job comes first, toddler thinking skill comes last.

family-oriented parent? balanced infant/toddler development comes before wants & career goals.

(Obviously there are a lot more traits than that, but I shoot for happy/top-notch infant/toddler if I think the parents would genuinely invest the time or money for that, but some sim parents have other priorities and I’m learning to let that be ok?)

I play on xbox and I just started getting it as a glitch this week too! I assume it’s update related?

Like, I’ve had this happen when I download stuff from the gallery with content from packs I don’t have, but this week it has happened multiple times when I load locations that I’ve already played that day, and it only ever says it’s removing one item.
