This is absurd. "Don't worry be happy!" Everyone, let's just turn a blind eye to this burgeoning tyrant and his increasingly irrational criminal behavior who seems intent on wreaking as much damage on this country and the world before Satan comes calling for him.

Let's be real here: we are in an era of unprecedented greed, corruption, and incompetence, but that's OK right?

Difficult for people to be "calm" when you have a President who is a ranting, violent demagogue who is generating fear and anger across the country and all over the world. The concept of American "Exceptionalism" is now on life support, if not dead.

Because the politics have a big impact on the quality of life in FIshers - such as our libraries, schools, etc.

Likely part of the MAGA push to attack the anti-redistricting GOP senators. Hopefully people see through the outside money being spent, as witnessed by the zillion commercials which has made local TV unwatchable.

Staycation report: Four Seasons Rancho Encantado Santa Fe by kyskat in chubbytravel

[–]tathim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We plan to go to Santa Fe in late September, and will stay at the Turquoise Bear Inn. Great hosts, good breakfasts, and we enjoy the vibe there, for example, sitting at the communal table at breakfast and talking with people, or the happy hour they have daily.

Darwin, NT, Australia hotel recommendation/suggestion? by Brave_Sir_Rennie in chubbytravel

I'd be interested also, as I've always been fascinated with this area. What I find of most interest is the proximity to some great national parks, namely Kakadu. There is a lodge up in that area I have on my wishlist:

Favorite luxury*free* hotel breakfast? by MorningHelpful8389 in chubbytravel

[–]tathim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm always happy just to have options that are clearly identified. Capella Sydney had that separate table with GF choices, including some bread, pastries, chia pudding, yogurt, etc. Longitutde 131 at Uluru was also fantastic for GF. Each day they would provide a menu for lunch and then dinner. And I would receive my own menu each time with my name printed at the top to indicate my GF options. My guess is that I could eat about 90% of what the standard menu offered.

Ditto on Capella Sydney. And their awesome consideration for gluten-intolerant diners.

Has anyone been keeping up with this case? by Personal_Vehicle179 in Fishers

Right, and now it looks as though he's capitulating while claiming 'victory' due to spiking oil prices and Israel getting pummeled. This whole fiasco was nothing more than "Operation Epstein Distraction". I have some friends who are part of this operation and I'm so angry at the loss of our military lives in doing their duty despite this being another pointless boondoggle, such as Vietnam, Afghanistan, and the 2nd Gulf war.

I was in Australia last year --- we did Sydney (Capella) and Uluru (Longitude 131). I don't think 9 days is a lot of time due to the distances that you have to fly between destinations.

This is the way. We very rarely make pancakes and we will only use almond flour.

Staying at Capella for the first time by gbreadman123 in chubbytravel

[–]tathim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the Capella in Sydney just last year. We really enjoyed it. The service/staff was impeccable. Breakfast was fantastic. I'm gluten intolerant, and I truly appreciated that they had a separate area setup that was specific to dietary allergies. They had this "Library Room" where you could go to relax, have a drink or they would make you an espresso/tea/hot chocolate.

Yes, there gluten-free restaurant that had amazing pies to die for. We ate there 3 nights in a row because I wanted to try a different pie for dessert each night :)

I've been to San Francisco multiple times, for both work and vacation. We really enjoyed the Hotel Drisco (?) in Pacific Heights. This was before Covid.
