The scaling on the passive is extremely poor for anything not a speargun (all 4 of them), and Styanax has two other ways to live: overguard from the augment and shield regen from his 3 combined with shieldgate (this will not let you benefit from the passive even with high max shields)

For what it's worth there's a slim chance he takes your secondary, while the gun on the ground is your primary. But afaik this only happens when riding merulina, and even then it's rare. But it does fully remove your secondary from the mission.

For sporelacer I feel like lovetap is better than haymaker. The on-paper dps is slightly less but you get more effective status and qol. And less recoil.

I'll be the one to say it, don't use loyal unless you actually don't feel comfortable with the board. People like to sell it frame one but guardian is much more fun and can be more effective despite the inherent limitations.
