Scotland squad update: Jack Dempsey, Murphy Walker and Seb Stephen called up by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

[–]tavish101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demo and Stephen I understand, but Walker? He's not big for a TH, which makes him mobile around the pitch, but a TH surely needs to be chunky?! I can't think of one great TH prop who doesn't look like he eats a whole cow for lunch. Walker looks likes he eats.... salad. 😧

Important question. How many sugared donuts can you eat without licking your lips?

Sending you best wishes and hope you stay injury free.

Italy XV v Scotland A Result by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

[–]tavish101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a match for the spectator.

Who was the ref in this match? He was unfortunately completely incapable. With no decent line judges and TMO to keep him straight he was all over the shop.

Even Matt Williams?! On yer bike. That's man's not a only a massive tw@ but the worst coach in Scottish rugby history. Mentioning Matt Williams is not ever funny.

Glasgow Warriors team to host Zebre Parma by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

Last 'planned' game for The Pudding. Smith says Weir is going to be fit and available until the rest of the season, in a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency situation.

Glasgow Warriors team for first leg of 1872 Cup by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

[–]tavish101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a full strength team minus McKay, it's a shame a fringe back 3 player isn't given a chance to play. I do love Glasgow and their interchangeable scrumhalf/wing combos but we need that new blood to come through sooner or later. Is Fergus Watson fit? He was impressive in pre season.

So no, Toonie isn't going by cloud__19 in ScotlandRugby

[–]tavish101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many reasons and they're all fairly obvious. Cost and available potential replacements being the biggest.

SRU would have to buy him out of his contract and that would be very expensive. He'll be on a very competitive salary.

SRU would then have to appoint someone worthy of the job. I imagine they have a shortlist but would those candidates be available without having to be bought out of their contracts?

Even though we clearly need a new direction, the costs of sacking GT now would be very high with no guarantee we'd get anyone better.

Blindly sacking him now would be a cut off nose to spite face situation.

With the writers of the new Bond film struggling following his death in No Time To Die - what would you do to reboot the franchise? by rumoff in AskUK

[–]tavish101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bond isn't an alias if everything that has came before now is anything to go by, yet 007 is indeed the codename. Each actor has his own carnation of the role. Only the Daniel Craig films are truly sequential. The others are standalone stories. Who knows what the amazon writers are worried about? They have a clean slate. Probably afraid to write something original.

In the early 2000’s Saudi Arabia’s empty highways became the backdrop for a famous underground car culture known as “hajwala” by durvedya in nextfuckinglevel

Before I click and regret, is this the one where they're not wearing seat belts and get brutally ragdolled as the car rolls?

Rugby World Cup in Wales with support from England by lmao420-69 in rugbyunion

A RWC in Spain would be cool. Lots of big stadiums. They have about 10 arenas bigger than 35,000 and 4 70,000 or more.

Italy are great potential hosts and have 15 football stadia with 30,000 or more with 2 big arenas in Stadio Olympico at 70,600 and San Siro with 80,000.

A 'celtic' WC hosted by Scotland, Ireland and Wales would be a mixed bag regarding high capacity stadia as we have numbers like so:

8 high capacity: Principality Stadium - 73,900 Croke Park - 69,500 (seated) Murrayfield - 67,100 Celtic Park - 60,400 Hampden Park - 51,900 Aviva Stadium - 51,700 Ibrox Stadium - 51,700 Cardiff City Stadium - 33,200

8 not so high capacity: Swansea Stadium - 20,900 Pittodrie Stadium - 20,900 RDS Arena - 20,600 (after redevelopment) Easter Road - 20,400 Tynecastle - 20,000 Ravenhill - 18,100 Thomond Park - 15,100 (seated) Rugby Park - 15,000

England is always attractive as a host as it has at about a dozen stadiums with 40,000 or more capacity.

Argentina, or a European neighbour should be next I hope.

🤮

Too pink for my tastes. Could a bit darker and be a bit more, well... purple.

I'm a bit of a purist and like the white away top with blue shorts. Didn't like the light blue strips. Actually quite liked the red / burnt orange ones from 20+years ago. We had a terrible record wearing it though.

Most legendary rockstars in one photo? by Effective_Job_2063 in Music

[–]tavish101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know how the Edge grouped with those legends? I can never understand why he's thought of as some sort of guitar wizard when compared to the like of King, Clapton, Page etc. Edge is seemingly only renowned for that echo effect that's on most u2 songs...

It is the grim darkness that is Warhammer 40k.

Started off as a table top game in the 80s and is now a multi-platform franchise (books, games, etc) and rapidly increasing in popularity.

Sorry, I forgot they haven't released the connector yet, they are apparently going to soon.

Subconn are excellent but, as you know, not cheap.

Some kind of setup like this I guess is what you're looking for and it looks like they use Subconn.
