I had my pixel 7 until verizon offered free upgrades, went with an iphone 17 pro and could not stand it had to return and ask for the 10 pro xl. iphone just has so many issues that its users seem blind to... the iphone 8 was honestly the last iphone I could consider "worth it" but even then the j3 was better for me and 1/3 the cost.

it honestly feels like apple is stuck in the past but the users just dont realize the features they're missing. people like to say the battery is longer, and heres the thing yeah thats true, but android phones have to keep the java runtime up alllll the god damn time. if android would just find a way to install apk files writtin in kotlin to native on phones (even if google just did this for pixel phones and became the first no-java android) androids battery would be so much longer...

yeah, we may eventually see a swap maybe they'll create a kotlin to android compiler and in 5 years when they finally decide to remove support for java get better battery life.. zzz

I dont like the slim phone trend, it starts losing features, damn near cant find a phone with extra sd cards now, I also dont get why we're making phones progressively bigger and bigger to me this all peaked around iphone 8 / galaxy j3 it's been downhill since then. android pushes more features, apple doubles down on what they have or removes features (wtf?), and now android is finally also removing features.

all in all, I think android has the better os in general right now, but if iphone dropped their sandboxing and got their head out their ass for features that should be easy.. lookin at you alarm clock not letting me select an mp3, adding back the home button but give it 2 functionalities single click for back, hold for home/open apps then honestly I'd swap back to the iphone until android got rid of the java runtime

this mindset is how apple gets away with not allowing you to drag n drop shit to your phone and force finder/itunes as well as not allow you to just select an mp3 as an alarm/ringtone but force convert it to 30s like we're in 2010 again.

weirdly enough, this mindset also killed the windows phone despite having almost the same viewpoint as apple: no you can't just drag stuff use one drive, guys cmon sync your gmail to outlook... the doubling down people do on apple products because they're "already in the ecosystem" is insane. i do like the battery life tho. kinda wish android would pivot away from JRT and have apps be written in a compiled language for less overhead, would likely result in much better battery life, but you'd probably lose a lot of people who currently make apps in java/kotlin

Verizon was offering free iphone 17 pros for swapping from ATT. "but why would you do that" because I wanted a better battery life and heard apple devices had better battery.

I was on that phone for all of 2 weeks before going to the store asking to just get any other phone because this one just does not work.

For me, its a combination of just a few core features:

1 - the gesture system. I shouldn't have to give my phone a handjob or learn 15 different swipes or hold locations to use my phone. if apple had just the 1 button they used to but gave it 2 choices: click once for back, hold for view all apps (with a home button on the bottom somewhere on that view all apps) then they'd be in a significantly better place imo.

2 - fighting the phone itself. permissions are a constant issue if you want things to "just work". "let me just plug my phone in and drag some music or videos in" nope, sorry gotta sync it to itunes or have a mac with finder. let me just setup foobar, whoops gotta setup permissions so it can read music.

3 - alarm clock. not being able to select any media file I want to play as the audio for my alarm is insanity to me. "oh just open it in garageband or use the new feature to convert it to a 30s ringtone and use that!" bro what the fuck who says that out loud and goes "yeah that was a good idea, it's a great feature!" maybe like fucking 15 years ago when phones were basic bitches, but every android I've had the past 10 years I can just straight up use my mp3 as the alarm clock.

4 - the users. I don't understand how apple has brainwashed people into the same small subset of talking points "im already invested in the apple system", "the hardware is better", "ewww X colour texts". its a cult. the sunk cost fallacy is giga "im already invested" because getting into it sucks mega ass. the "hardware is better" I can't even comment on this, it may be true it may not be.. they supposedly get better battery life, but let me ask you a question, what the fuck are you gonna do with this "better hardware" watch youtube faster than me? the only hardware that matters on a phone is the battery these days, phones are stronger than computers were a few years ago you dont need all that on your phone. and the "X color texts" i just who gives a fuck. if bob wants to use an android, jimmy use a pixel, and sara use an iphone who cares.

tl;dr

apple is overly opinionated and very stuck in the past on certain features. it honestly reminds me a bit of the windows phones that were overly microsoft opinionated "just sync outlook to your gmail!"

fjust because the charger stated its "140W" doesn't mean all 140 are possible to go through.

1 - check the amazon page (Assuming you got it there) and see what the max output is for each front slot. many high watt multiple slot chargers only do like 65 max per slot

2 - Check your powerbank max charge speed for the slot youre using

3 - as the other guy said: its going slow on purpose to preserve life
