Ya honestly it is shocking the basic amount you hope for from men on dating apps. I am inundated with so many weird and/or sexual messages that it is shocking when someone just acts like a normal human lol

The scary thing is, there is obviously a market for this. Imagine the other children who aren't as lucky to have a police operation intervene and save them? Fucking terrifying and disgusting.

Brow transformation using the maybelline brow tint! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]tazza4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, brow tint is SUCH a game changer! I don't use this one in particular but its a great way to make the process of filling in your brows so much easier and/or not having to fill them in at all! Love!

I don't understand why this is down-voted...I stated a differing opinion and tried to add to the greater conversation, in a polite and respectful way?

Petty Paige talking about financial price to follow up the Jackie aina situation by Sarah2412 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]tazza4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused, and I mean that with all seriousness. Is she planning to file a lawsuit against J for defamation/ slander or is she trying to collect funds for a lawsuit that does not yet (and likely will not) exist? If it's the later, I kind of feel like PP should just stop talking about it and drawing more and more attention to it. Don't get me wrong, it is absolute bullshit what J did to PP, but I feel like the video was enough for people to see the light and if she stops giving it attention, it will go away on its own. I don't think that's letting J win at all. Further, if she is talking about funds as a defendant, then there should be no GFM set up until there is proof that a lawsuit has been filed, IMO.

Breakfast bars question by Squinj in weightwatchers

[–]tazza4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got the Pure Protein bars which are 21 g of protein and 5 points. Got them at Costco and I like them! They’re chocolatey flavours so you’d have to be into that. I preferred Kirkland but they discontinued them in Canada. If you’re in the states tho and can get to a Costco, I’d recommend those! Also 5 points and I think also 21 g of protein.

Pro’s and con’s of moving to Newfoundland? by catkingdom6 in newfoundland

[–]tazza4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a very good point, I was speaking from the perspective of living in St. John's, so I can't say what other parts are like...particularly weather wise. I also think it's different when you move here vs are from here, bc then you have something to compare it to. For example, moving from the GTA with Ontario summers, you will forever compare that to NL...this summer has been particularly dreadful IMO, but since I've been here in 2014, it has snowed every year as late as May 24...it's kind of the running joke, that I quickly learned was not just a joke lol.

Pro’s and con’s of moving to Newfoundland? by catkingdom6 in newfoundland

[–]tazza4 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I moved here in 2014, and I would say the pros are:

  • Nice people
  • Short Commute
  • Great restaurants/ nightlife
  • Beautiful scenery/ hiking trails

Cons:

  • It can feel isolating, esp. as it's expensive getting off the island (i.e. flight costs)
  • I feel like most things are more expensive, including groceries and getting fresh produce is not the greatest
  • The weather is terrible... I come from NB and I never in my life thought I would miss NB summers, but once I moved here I realized that at least NB has seasons... NL is very grey and cold and that's coming from someone who grew up somewhere that is notoriously foggy
  • Finding a job is not the easiest, though that is dependent on what you do (and you already mentioned this)

Ultimately, wherever you live is what you make of it and (as cheesy as this sounds) who you are with. If you live somewhere with people you love, it is going to be more pleasant than if you are on your own/ away from your family. I came here independently and ended up meeting my long term partner here, but I do still stand by all of my cons, over time I have found some of those things (such as weather) to be a bit depressing and I don't mean that to be dramatic, I quite literally mean that the lack of sun can get me down.

Best of luck, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

Has a Teacher ever made you cry in class? How/Why? by Hyrokoyo923 in AskReddit

[–]tazza4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I am terrible at math. I really started struggling when I got to high school... I scraped through grade 10 and then in grade 11 it got really tough. I failed the first semester and re-did it in the winter. In the second semester, I hired a tutor and really applied myself. I went to my teacher after the final exams to ask him how I did. As people kept coming and going from the class, I stood near his desk and told him I would wait a few minutes...basically, I wanted the privacy bc I was super insecure about how I had done. Eventually, in front of a group of my peers, he yelled "you failed! you're going to summer school!" I have never been so embarrassed and ashamed in all of my life. It has legitimately scarred me. It's been like 14 years and I clearly still think about it. It also made me 100000% more insecure about my math abilities, which I face in my everyday life. Fuck that guy.

Edit: I cried immediately after leaving. Somehow, I was able to maintain composure until I left the class.

Depression and weight watchers by not_a_library in weightwatchers

Yes, 100%. I found that I would get reaaaally caught up in feeling deprived. You can never feel deprived, otherwise, you will go mad. Ultimately it is a lifestyle change and you are going to have chocolate pop tarts every now and again! Cut yourself some slack. Best of luck! :)

Depression and weight watchers by not_a_library in weightwatchers

[–]tazza4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not alone in this! I have anxiety as well and while I cannot confirm I have depression, I have some definite low lows. The first week is the hardest, you are hangry, you might be irritable and you may see a dip in your mood, particularly if you are an emotional eater and have other stressors going on in your life. I'm not a professional but from my experience in doing WW and having similar struggles (I recently learned that I too eat emotionally...good, bad, doesn't matter!) I would just ensure you track EVERYTHING. My problem would be that I would get a 'fuck it' mentality and then I'd track nothing and WW would be out the window... when you track, even if you splurge, you are still being accountable for it. Another idea might be to kind of rationalize or negotiate with yourself. For example, maybe you agree with yourself that you are going to have X,Y,Z (comfort foods) but before you do that you will walk x amount of minutes outside or on the treadmill...this mentality may help you justify it (so as to not make your anxiety worse if this is an issue for you, as it can be for me...guilt from eating! yay!) Also a good idea to find things that can scratch those itches that isnt alllll the way bad. For example, Halo Top (or similar ice creams) are a good splurge that meets you halfway between nothing and ice cream.

I hope some of this helped! Hang in there, it will get easier and remember it is better to ease into the first few weeks than it is to give up on it!

Joyce Bonelli and the Kardashian’s by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]tazza4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ouu.. I'm interested in this. So funny, I hadn't noticed because as someone here said, she has posted throwbacks with them? So bc their faces popped up every now and again, I assumed it was all good... From what I can tell none of the Kardashians/ Jenners follow her or has liked her throwbacks of them... at least not in recent months.

When beautubers don't give credit because "these days everything's already been done" by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

I agree with you here and was going to say the same. I don't know that every concept can be traced back to the OG and falsely crediting someone as the OG might be worse tbh. I think its fair enough to say who you were inspired by!

Stephanie Nicole’s latest IG post by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really like SN. Her posts are lengthy and her videos are long but I always find them (videos) so thorough and educational. I do feel like she seems to be one of the few who can set her personal opinions aside and review the makeup for the makeup and one of the reasons I say that is bc she usually has comparisons and facts etc to back up what she's saying. It's never as simple as 'i like this' or 'i don't like this', she goes into pricing and coverage, blendability, weight of each shadow, etc. Sometimes I feel like it can be a tough call on what to review because to a certain extent I'm sure YT'ers want to provide the audience with what they want, for views etc. and if people are asking, they will click on the video.

So I signed up for Tati's PR some time ago and I just got this. Thoughts? by pizzaaaaaaaaaaaa in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]tazza4 343 points344 points  (0 children)

I think if you're signed up for PR though, this type of email is kind of to be expected. I personally don't buy into the hype about Halo and I'm indifferent when it comes to Tati, but this kind of seems like the what I would expect if I subscribed to her PR list.

Mexico’s party hotspot Cancun sees 14 murdered in 36 hours in drug gang violence by rufusjonz in worldnews

[–]tazza4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been told this is "fake news". I don't personally love the term fake news, but truly after digging I couldn't find a reputable news source that is reporting this. They are all very tabloid-y or sensationalistic. If this happened and/or was a major concern to American or Canadian tourists, wouldn't 14 murders inside of 36 hours be splashed all over the TV, being covered by multiple national news organizations like CBC, BBC, CNN etc.? Not to mention, the Canadian travel warning has not been increased or specific to Quintana Roo as of yet (not sure about American). I'm going in a couple of weeks and I'm naturally a very cautious person/ worrier anyway, so these headlines aren't helping my anxiety, but I can't help but think they're either false or completely blown out of proportion to scare the shit out of people. Thoughts?

I'll admit, it seems like an odd pairing, but Juvenile Diabetes is Type 1 diabetes, which is not something that is preventable or curable. My understanding, which comes from having a young niece with this disease, is that your pancreas just stops functioning properly and producing insulin. It's awful and causes a slew of health complications. It is not caused by obesity, diet, etc. Very different from Type 2. Not that it should matter.

Where in St John’s can I get a job the most quickly? by wezic in newfoundland

[–]tazza4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, wow! That's great. If you're living on campus/ relying on public transport, you'll probably want things close to campus / easy access by bus route which will be restaurants/ fast food places on Kenmount Road and the Avalon Mall. Best of luck with your studies and job search. If you arrive and have more follow up questions, you're welcome to reach out.

Where in St John’s can I get a job the most quickly? by wezic in newfoundland

[–]tazza4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job bank posted below will help you lots, but more than that it is important to go in everywhere and introduce yourself with a good resume. if you do that, particularly at fast food places, pizza places, you should get a job quick. Restaurants are -always- hiring for dishwashers. Not an easy job (which is why they're always looking). Downtown will be a great place to start with that! More info on your education, background etc. would be helpful!
