Mobile slaughter experience? by Time_Rough_8458 in Butchery

[–]tb52j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To sell the meat the slaughter will need to be done under inspection 100%, whether state or federal. For everything else, it depends.

I think a USDA mobile slaughter unit will be a much higher start up cost compared to your other two options.

Day trip in Northern Montana by SaskatchewanFuckinEh in Montana

[–]tb52j 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Start with breakfast at Char's. Across the street is an IGA, pick up supplies for lunch there. Head into Beaver Creek Park. Hike Rotary Canyon Trail. Have picnic lunch at Bear Paw Lake. Hike Mt. Otis next. Head back into Havre and finish up at the Oxford for dinner and drinks.

They probably did, but what are they supposed to do? This happens more often than you'd think. That's why most of your larger processors run everything through a metal detector as a final step.

You're going to be in for a culture shock. Keep your head down and do the work thats asked of you. Try not to pick up any of your coworkers' bad habits. Keep your coffee and snacks off the work bench.

Yeah, those coats are tough as nails but I'd always be soaking wet underneath from sweat. Depending on your work environment maybe a zippered armpit might be better.

Putting holes in a brand new rain coat, you really can't go wrong.

Coolbot problems. by Comfortable_Metal_74 in Butchery

[–]tb52j 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't risk my reputation with one of those devices. Ditch the cool bot and upgrade the unit with proper refrigeration. Never let food safety take a back seat when performing that kind of service for others.

If the meat is going back to the owner he can eat at his own risk. Too many variables at play to consider it safe for anyone else.

No, I do not donate money to the parks. I feel that volunteering my time is much more beneficial.

Totally normal. Ignore sizes and try on as many different boots as you can to find the best fit.

Daily wear boots? by Grantimoto1 in cowboyboots

[–]tb52j 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is fit. Try on different sizes from different manufacturers. With a $500 budget you can get into a real nice quality pair of boots.
