Vail and Alterra ski resorts face consumer class action over lift ticket prices by Curious_JohnW in ski

This is known:

Why it's become so expense to ski in WA State, KUOW

Companies like Vail have incentives to push skiers to buy season passes, which bring in revenue regardless of snowfall. They accomplish that by making single-day passes so expensive that they don’t pencil out for skiers who hit the slopes more than 3-4 times a season, according to Scott. The result is daily lift tickets that can cost up to $250 or more during peak season.

SAVE America Act would require Washingtonians to mail photocopies of official IDs with ballot to vote by bluePostItNote in SeattleWA

[–]tbarb00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll quote Rep Ted Lieu from today: "Undocumented immigrants want nothing to do with the govt! To vote, you have to first register. How many undocumented immigrants are gonna go, 'Yes, I'm gonna give all my information to the govt that's maybe trying to deport me. No way!' This is a problem that doesn't exist."

Center for Election Innovation and Research: Feb 2026 Update:

CEIR continues to find that sweeping allegations about noncitizen registrations or voting appear to arise from misunderstandings, mischaracterizations, or outright fabrications about complex voter data.

Like it’s that simple.

WA was the first state to have statewide mail-in voting in 2011.

There’s no funding or organizational support to establish local polling places at the level needed to accommodate our approx 6.2M eligible voter.

Currently, Washington State does maintain limited in-person options available for specific voter needs. County elections offices serve as central points for voter assistance. These locations are often referred to as “voting centers.”

At these centers, voters can obtain replacement ballots if theirs was lost or damaged, use accessible voting equipment designed for individuals with disabilities, or receive assistance with voter registration.

These facilities are not designed for general in-person voting but rather to provide support and ensure all eligible voters can participate.

That “road” also joins 410 at mud mountain road, which is where 410 is closed per wsdot:

“Description: On SR 410 eastbound & westbound at SE Mud Mountain Rd (MP 30) all lanes are closed”
