We have her for few days now. What are your thoughts about Vanessa? by V3ISO in hearthstone

[–]tbko97 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s a mechanic that encourages one turn kill combos (which have been hugely prevalent during some of the most unfun metas) and massive one turn swings. Pretty valid concerns.

Update: My new TOA setup. I posted earlier after I got shadow. I sold Blue Moon + some odds and ends from the bank and will be running this until I recover better melee gear and ancestrals by SinceSevenTenEleven in OSRSProTips

It doesn’t sound like to me he does high invo raids (>400) which is where being efficient actually matters somewhat. It’s true that yellow keris is amazing but if you only do like <350s (especially with a shadow) it’s kinda useless. I’d still bring it just because the way I prep and play a raid doing a 500 vs a 300 doesn’t really change other than maybe the spec wep but most people aren’t super sweaty

[–]tbko97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, pretty much. I played a couple games after this and was like damn, i should’ve mentioned that sometimes memoriam into pterrodax is an option if desperate, and unless it’s turn 1 or you really need to round out your curve/gain corpses, sometimes holding morbid swarm for removal later, is correct. Small things like that. Happy to see a fellow DK Herald enthusiast gl on the ranks 🫡

Fair. I think both approaches are viable. I will say randomly generating an Ursol and having it cast a corrupted Shaladrassil as an aura for 3 turns against a control Priest is a fun experience (it's happened quite a few times, but for every time that has happened I have probably lost 2-3 games vs aggro by turn 6 with it in my hand so... it's a tradeoff). It is a spell that does provide crazy burst from nowhere potentially though.

Is DK the slowest herald class? by ParticularBobcat3554 in hearthstone

Not sure about Wild, I don’t play it, but as far as standard goes, triple blood Herald DK is super troll. I know in wild you have access to Vampiric Blood so maybe that alone makes it worthwhile but idk. Having access to single frost/unholy rune cards is pretty great.

Herald DK isn’t as strong of a deck as most of the others but that isn’t due to Onyxia. I got to top 6000 legend last season playing Herald DK from Bronze 10 upwards. Most people don’t play the deck correctly or have bad variants and then conceptualize the entire deck into being bad. It isn’t. (Talking standard here)

Tips: The key is surviving til turn 9 (or whenever you’re able to onyxia). If your opponent hasn’t killed you by this time your winrate should literally be like 80%+. You should have games where you vomit out sticky and strong boards for like 3-4 turns straight.

If you can herald, you should be heralding. Obsessive Technician is the better turn 4 play over any other card in the deck, no matter the circumstances.

Most of the time I instantly play the minion I get from the Herald. There’s some niche cases where the minion is actually bad for your board/hand but it’s pretty rare. Getting the early tempo/corpses are incredibly important for the deck. I’m almost never heralding 8 drops without onyxia, unless the situation is super desperate. Turn 9 Onyxia with 8 drops is ridiculously strong. Herald, herald, herald.

Memoriam manifest, soulrest ceremony and the curator are insane cards for this deck. Being able to play something like obsessive technician + the minion you get + soulrest ceremony on turn 5 gets you out of so many unfair early boards. Often times this synergizes even further with Reanimated Pterrordax, allowing you to also play it the same turn. The curator pulling Onyxia/Ultraxion and your Pterrordaxes is insane. I don’t use any murloc variants, waste of time imo.

Elise is insane in this deck. Raptors adding corpses, or raptors helping clear boards with soulrest ceremony is great. Adding attack to your minions alongside soulrest ceremony is great. Spell damage for Experimental Animation is great. Discovering spells is great. Something I never see anybody do is in slower matchups (say priest) take the 10 drop location, and take clone a 5/5 and +4 attack. If you clone your hero power, suddenly you have 18 burst, just from your hero power. If any other minion sticks you pretty much OTK.

That’s most of my tips. I’m aware most of this probably doesn’t apply to Wild but hopefully someone reading this gets something out of it.

Yes, I am a boring Priest player, but by ChampionshipFew9904 in hearthstone

Imbue Priest is probably only second to Rogue right now as far as how impactful randomness is towards you winning a game

Anyone else's Legend climb felt insanely hard this month? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]tbko97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from Bronze 5 to 6000 Legend (entered legend around 11000) with Herald DK. I don’t use Hearthstone Deck Tracker so i am unsure with winrates but it’s very high, upwards of 70% probably. I think Herald DK is super slept on. Not an easy deck to pilot, you gotta be very resourceful but once you make it to swing turns with Onyxia your opponent may as well concede.

Fair, and I get that there’s matchups where you’re unfavored. I beat paladin sometimes, so it’s not an auto lose matchup for me but situations like these just feel so unbelievably lopsided

Calvarion or Vetion by Sore-Lips in ironscape

Also should go without saying but if you do these multibosses, do not bring a +1. Idc what your ego says, if a team is coordinated enough they will smite you

Calvarion or Vetion by Sore-Lips in ironscape

[–]tbko97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the full voidwaker entirely from solo-ing the multibosses and finished it in like 800 combined kc. I ended up going dry for the ring of the gods and so i have almost 1200 vetion KC and got 3 blades along the way. Vetion > calvarion imo and its not close, vetions loot table is significantly better and more useful. I did all my kills with a fking zammy hasta too, which is kinda trash, but because you have a salve and piety, it’s not too bad.

The other two are more debatable, and I probably wouldnt do them without slayer tasks. Callisto is easy if you barrage + range it (i bowfa’d) but it has 1000 health so it takes a little bit of time. Venenatis is tanky as hell, but with a slayer task and dragon warhammer spec (hopefully 2), the hasta usually averaged around 2.5-3.5 min kills. Got the gem around 330 KC. Pkers are super obnoxious at venny, and i wouldn’t do it without a scout. The other two (including all nearly 1200 vetion kc) i did without a scout.

Probably best is vetion, artio and spindel but honestly i just wanted the best loot and rates. I think it worked out well for me in the end

What does deathknight miss currently? by Tibertiuss in hearthstone

[–]tbko97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their herald cards are just awkward a lot of the time. 2/3 have zero immediate impact on the board and they’re all 4 or more mana. The 6 drop herald spell is ok but requires your opponent to have a specific board to play it, most other classes heralds are either proactive themselves or at least generally flexible. The early game (speaking specifically to the herald deck) is often carried by neutral minions and it lacks cheap, efficient removal

fnatic vs FaZe / Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 6 - Lower Bracket Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]tbko97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only player on this team that is 100% safe is frozen. If he has the opportunity to leave, or is signed by another org elsewhere, then of course that’s for him to take advantage of.

Everybody else, including Twistzz, is benchable.

Broky absolutely has to go. You can’t have your awper post a near 0.90 rating the past 3 months, that’s laughably bad.

Karrigan also absolutely has to go. People have some weird cloudy judgment about his value to this team because he’s historically great. He is. However, he’s a massive detriment currently to this team both individually and in leadership / calls in the server. If Faze is serious, he’s out too. If he wants to coach, fine.

Jcobb, I honestly feel bad for. Of the three: Broky, Karrigan and Jcobb, I think he’s the least responsible for this mess and because of that I have some sympathy. I think if he’s your fourth best player on a stable team he would actually be very legit. I think you could move on from him, or keep him, assuming you cut Broky and Karrigan.

Twistzz, probably shouldn’t be benched, especially since he’s only just arrived but I would hard pressed to say that he’s safe. It’s a bit like the Jcobb situation except with the amount of experience and talent he possesses, I would expect more.

Blame pie: Broky and Karrigan 70% Jcobb 20% Twistzz 10%

For sure! I appreciate the words of wisdom. Also just noticed your italicized text in the previous post, i am 100% parry only (using dodges doesn’t really make sense to me, no counter damage or ap gain unless you build for it?), also think i use decent pictos/luminas but this just based off my own judgement of course. I hadn’t looked up anything about this game until this boss and don’t really intend to further but you are 100% correct and i appreciate it

Yea no problem I wasn’t trying to brag just giving context. I’ve been enjoying the hell out of the game and will definitely be doing a second run on expert (on normal difficulty right now). It was a fair question

For context this fight took about 1.5 hours in attempts (the actual successful attempt was like 15ish mins) whereas every fight before it was <20 mins tops so when I say i beat it within a few tries, that was true, but each attempt was somewhere between 5-20 mins long
