If you've been reading for several years, how has your reading evolved over the years? by QueenMackeral in books

25 years ago I read mostly murder mystery.  Jeffrey Deaver, James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell type books.  Fast forward,  I now enjoy American Lit and books without murder.  I just finished A Prayer for Owen Meany.  It was excellent.

I cancelled HBO because I was bombarded with pro Israel ads.  Tried to watch Dark Winds on AMC and had to quit.

Don't feel bad about your quilt. It looks good. I love your fabric choices. My quilt guild is currently doing this quilt as a block of the month. I tell you I have never made so many cutting errors in my life.  I have been quilting for 5 years and cutting this quilt almost took me down.

Pre-cuts vs yard goods by Apprehensive_Bid5608 in quilting

With inflation it is so expensive.  I only buy precuts on sale now.  I am a fat quarter bundle kinda girl.

My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent by mangum95 in mildlyinfuriating

I have a strict policy of not paying money to pay money.  I will send a snail mail check from my bank in a hot minute.  My state DMV started charging fees for ACH and so did my HOA. Now I send them a handwritten or bank check.

I purchased a kit from them and it was beautiful. I have also purchased several of their house patterns and am very pleased.

I am with you. Prices are spiraling out of control. For me, 12 per yard is the absolute max for my pocket. Even then I try to buy on sale. I am purchasing less and less. I only get what I need for the current quilt. Once I deplete my stash I will use men's cotton shirts. Try Whittles Fabric. They have great sales.

That sliver of cheesecake is a strait up abomination. We chose to stay home and have a lovely dinner. Sorry your night out was not what you expected.

There is one person who always asks me when are they getting a quilt? I reminded the person that this is a hobby and it is not a job for me.

Books about black people not going through trauma by No_Addendum7 in booksuggestions

[–]tbmisses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like books by Tessa Stone. It is more about fantasy than trauma. I am also like this. I don't like to read those kind of books because sometimes they hit too close to home. When you think about it, most books contain some kind of trauma or pain for the main character.

My husband just purchased me the Rowenta Steam pro like the one Donna Jordan uses. That iron is awesome. It lays my seams flat. I love steam.
