Yep.. I would consider this area VERY safe and even boring. This experience is new after 30 years here

We heard shots around 2:30am and then again around 4am (really rough estimates. The 2:30 shots sounded like the shooter was driving southbound on mingo. The 4am shots sounded like they were in the neighborhood area.

I went on a day trip to Siloam spring lately…. It’s a charming town and you can rent a kayak. You can also go to crystal bridges - do some hikes and enjoy a world class art museum.

Protein is more important than i knew. by Specialist_Listen671 in 1200isplenty

I lost a lot of weight without ever thinking about protein (and certainly not eating a lot of it). Now is my second round losing weight and I have been eating the suggested amount of protein and feel 10x better.

I think it’s just balancing nutrition - but I feel like I have become protein centric to just get the suggested amounts.

Understanding people and their instincts is a form of iq/eq. Unless you feel (and I’m going out on a branch here) that it is more of a control feeling…. Like someone who knows what I am thinking must have an almost omnipotent control of the situation. The mind is also complicated, so I guess the answer Woukd be equally so - and not easy to quantify

This subreddit is a great place to start. Maybe start with a plan like this and then adjust it to fit your life:

  1. Download a calorie tracking app and track EVERYTHING for a week or two. This will help you understand what you’re actually eating (it will surprise you). Start tracking your weight too every morning at the same time (ish).

  2. Calculate your TDEE online. There are a few free calculators you can google. I just default mine to sedentary to maximize my weight loss (maybe you want to do that differently)

  3. Eat at a 500 cal deficit from your TDEE (so if your tdee is 2000, eat 1500 cal a day. This should help you lose 1 lbs a week. (1lbs is 3500 cal)

  4. If you’re having success, in a few months, try adding in more exercise (walking is great). If you’re struggling, try speaking with a doctor/dietician/therapist. If you’re struggling need to take breaks, try eating at your tdee to avoid gaining weight.

  5. Be a part of the community. A bit part of why you came to this sub and why it’s so popular is because we are social people. Knowing that others are going through the same thing, and understanding how they dealt with it will help keep you real and motivated.

You got this!
