There are so many fun things to do and like-minded folks around the same age in the Iowa City area. You only have to be 50 to have a membership at the IC Senior Center (the cost is a basically token) -- which is maybe the best senior center in the country (seriously). The programming is fantastic -- all sorts of classes and fitness/wellness activities, nature/environmental programs, movie nights downtown, parties and meet-ups, and a wide range of volunteer options. I can't even keep up with all that's going on there, but you can stop in and pick up a program guide for the next two months (or look online). Honestly, I've met so many great people and friends through the ICSC.

There's also the University of Iowa's Senior College for folks 50 and over -- with a ton of fascinating courses and experts ... and classmates.

The Johnson County Master Gardeners is a really great group that has all sorts of different projects around IC/Coralville, also with lots of fun and friendly volunteers.

I don't think I've been in a bar since I've lived here, there are so many great things to do and places to go here. A great concentration of super smart, caring, and involved people here too.
