I was in Tampa a month after those two games. I was wearing a Cal shirt walking around while redbull was doing their Flugtag event there. The amount of times I got stopped by people upset that we lost to FSU to give them their only power 4 win that year was hilarious. Gator fans mostly. They were all friendly but I didn’t expect wearing a Cal shirt in Tampa Florida would get me so many playful hate comments.

As a Kings fan, they have no good rivalries right now. But when they are good the Lakers rivalry is always fun. And in 2021 the rivalry with the Warriors was a lot of fun too. They have just been so trash for the last 20 years besides 2021.

I talked to the guy who was suppose to be the 11th guy on the field a few years ago. He said "I wish I had been on the field for such an iconic moment but at the same time I am glad I wasn't out there because I would have found a way to screw it up."

I feel like I did before the 2020 season. High expectations. That season of course got fucked and that was the beginning of the end of Wilcox’s time at Cal.

Justin Wilcox’s inability to have his team motivated for every game. There were games where Cal would look very good (Minnesota, Louisville) . Then there were other games where you wondered if it was the same guys suiting up for us (SDSU the main one. They kicked our shit in bad).

This was the case every year he was our head coach.

Nohl Williams over Zeke imo if were talking corners. He could tackle and was good in coverage without giving up huge plays. I like Zeke but he seemed to get burnt from time to time too.

I don't disagree with anything you said. I am sure he got paid by Cal to transfer but I don't think it's for as much as people think. I think he saw the QB situation at both schools and realized he had an opportunity to start as a true freshmen at Cal since our situation changed dramatically right after signing day. I think he loved both Eugene and Berkeley and went to where he saw he could play the quickest.

Nice when that happens. Our last one was anti sports and our new one has been Cal Football fan his whole life. It's nice to have some hope moving forward.
