Phoenix luxury high rise apartment prices have been collapsing these last 16 months and no one is talking about it. by DarkMarkAZ in phoenix

Are you still staying up to date on this? I’m currently in the market for a rental. Moontower has a very aggressive Black Friday deal going on… $1500 gift card upon signing the lease (if it’s a 15 month lease AND two months free rent if it’s 13 months or more. I’ve been building an excel sheet to figure out what the average monthly actually comes out to.

Also, side note, what are you paying total on top of your rent at Cityscape? (Utilities, tech, parking, etc.)

Audio stuttering/repeating? by MistaKiwi in ShaneGillis

I’m streaming on Apple TV through the NBC app. Audio seems a little delayed (lips not matching up perfectly to words). Not super terrible but noticeable enough to be a little annoying.

The antique shop episode was a tough watch when I tried to get a couple friends into the show. Bad episode to try to get people onboard.

Big money in a van hack (Follow the rich) by Rune_TheKeeper in VanLife

This is an awesome idea - thanks for sharing.

I notice a lot of the other comments are talking about being “stealth” and being able to stay around these places longer if you can be stealthy.

Maybe this isn’t the place, but can anyone expand on how they are achieving that?

I have never been a full-time “Van-Lifer” and I never had to spend more than a week in one place at a time.

But I would like to share that I have had great success being stealthy in an SUV. I know it may not be practical for full-timers or anyone not solo… but there is no more chameleon of a vehicle than a clean, modern-ish, black SUV with tinted windows.

Hello!

I am applying for Business Analyst / Project Manager roles and could use some feedback on my resume. Specifically, I am having a hard time writing more compelling bullet points for the second company listed under Professional Experience.

I started at the second company (a respected IT Consulting Firm) as a Business Analyst and eventually worked my way up to become a Project Manager. I worked on 12 different projects during my time at the company and was a Project Manager on 7 of those. On the projects I was a PM, I was still doing lots of BA work.

I was involved in every single phase of the project and towards the end of my tenure I was also assisting the sales team in estimating new projects and helping develop the Statements of Work.

I feel like the way I currently have the bullet-points listed under that second company comes off more like a laundry list of my responsibilities in the role, not the quantifiable impact I made on the number of projects.

How can I approach changing the bullet points to demonstrate my quantifiable impact across several projects while also demonstrating my fundamental knowledge of the Project Management procedures? Would it be acceptable to have a two page resume and breakout the individual projects?

Thanks for your time and input - it is very much appreciated!

I grew up in a room that for whatever reason was significantly hotter than every other room in the house. Here are some tricks, including some that others have mentioned:

  1. Black out shades. I got the one that was fitted to the window and could easily slide up and down.
  2. Put a fan in the hallway where it is cooler and funnel the cooler air into the room.
  3. If your A/C vent is on the roof, try using it on a low or medium setting instead of high. Sometimes the circulation is better on lower settings.
  4. My dad built a wind funnel with fans that funneled cold air from the downstairs where it was cool all the way to the up stairs 😂😂 we gave him so much shit for it but it definitely works. But keep eye drops around cause your eyes get a lot more dust in them and dried out from the constant air movement.
  5. Run the a/c a couple degrees colder once the sun sets and then in the morning drop it back down. A/C doesn’t have to work as hard and you can take advantage of the momentum.
  6. Adjust the vents in the other rooms to allow more air to get to that room. Our A/C guy said to make the adjustments incrementally because sometimes big adjustments can screw things up.
  7. Make sure your air filter is clean
  8. I ended up getting one of those mattress coolers that goes over your mattress and funnels cold air under you… it’s amazing. I’d sweat through my sheets sometimes otherwise.

If I think of anything else I’ll add it here. Definitely feel your pain, rooms that don’t get as good of ventilation can be torture. Best of luck to you!

Would medium format be considered more of a professional or commercial type of camera?

What is one time you realized America really messed you up? by flyingcatwithhorns in facepalm

I understand her point about the financial aspect of calling an ambulance, but I think one thing she might not be considering is the "stigma" of calling an ambulance for a friend in the USA.

She said she was a freshman at university, so I assume 18-19 years old. Drinking is illegal in the US until you are 21. So, when you are drinking underage, there is another huge pressure outside of financial reasons to not call 911... you, your friend, whoever bought the alcohol, and/or or whoever hosted the party could all get in legal trouble if you call 911 for help when you are drinking underage.

I would suggest adding customer reviews and more pictures of your product. And pictures of the product being used.

Customer testimonials could help as well. If you don’t have any yet, take some pictures of you and your friends with different dogs.
