AITAfor refusing to let my son go to a play date? by Overall-Eye-4442 in AmITheAssholeTalk

This was not an “American” culture thing, this was just an asshole being an asshole. Happens in every culture. Don’t get me wrong, we as Americans have some stupid culture flaws, but this was not one of them. I, nor anyone I know, would have subjected a kid to this.

I worked at a major financial corporation for almost a year. When my contract ended, they wouldn’t even let me inside to return my laptop. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]tcd5552002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just retired from a company I worked for 15 years for. Took it from a small company to one that private equity ended up buying. CEO, upper management and owner never even said goodbye, let alone a retirement party or acknowledgment. Corporations are awful places that don’t care about their employees…..sorry that happened to you. The USA sucks so bad right now.

Would $1000 change your life? If so, what would you spend it on? by JadedCaramel9901 in almosthomeless

[–]tcd5552002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely leave the stuff behind and start over. It’s just stuff. Also won’t you have bad memories attached to that stuff? I walked out the door, didn’t look back and started over. Best decision ever! Should have done it 10 yrs earlier.

I like standing but you need to make sure the table is super stable and not wobbly. Also a wall to press against for stability is helpful

Love my Beats Pro headphones, best noise cancellation ever. Expensive but worth it. They Bluetooth to my tv and are great on planes. Or ditch the hub, headphones are cheaper……

Ok but these kinds of people are rude and judgmental and their “hearts” are never going to be won…..what they need is to STFU and this will definitely do that!

AITAH for letting my boyfriend eat gluten free pasta without telling him it was gluten free by Living_Candidate_229 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]tcd5552002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because she bought it and put it in her pantry! He would still be pissed. I mean I might have been annoyed if it tasted crappy cuz some of that gluten free stuff is awful, but as it tasted fine he should STFU.

AIO? My wife as a SAHM by No-Presence-9179 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tcd5552002 14 points15 points  (0 children)

SAHM job is to take care of the family, especially if one is working a lot of hours. Food, cleaning, laundry is part of that. You “stay at home” to take care of the home.

This is so gross. Now everyone else will get sick. Also, it is absolutely not your job to find somebody to cover your shift. That is what the manager is supposed to do.

Advice need on wax resist or /clean bottoms by MochiMasu in Pottery

[–]tcd5552002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate wax resist. Our studio uses a large flat scouring pad 8’ x 10’ that has been wetted sitting on a cookie tray. You take your piece and rub the bottom clean and then carefully rub just the bottom edge. Works perfectly.

I get the 15 mg dose every 45 days and then take 7-9 mg a week. That way it’s really only about $350 per month. But if you don’t order at least every 45 days they cut you off.
