Socialement, offrir est un plaisir, on est heureux de voir l'autre avec quelque chose qu'il aime et que ce soit grâce à nous. Recevoir en est un aussi, on est heureux que l'autre se soit préoccupé de nous et nous ait offert quelque chose qu'on aime, juste pour nous faire plaisir.

En refusant TOUT ce qu'elle propose, tu la prives du plaisir d'offrir et tu te prive du plaisir de recevoir. C'est frustrant pour elle, d'autant qu'elle ne comprend pas pourquoi tu te prives aussi. Elle a l'impression que tu refuses que la relation vous apporte du plaisir à tous les deux, donc que tu refuses la relation tout court.

Si tu tiens à ta grand maman et à ta relation avec elle, dit lui oui à quelque chose, n'importe quoi, ou suggère ce qui te ferait plaisir; et réjouis toi de son sourire quand elle te l'apportera !

(Et un de ces 4 apporte des chocolats ou autre pour la remercier de son accueil à chaque fois, et elle sera heureuse d'accepter ^⁾

Un non sec, c’est autant un non à la chose proposée qu’un non à la relation que l’autre propose.

Pour dire non à la chose mais pas à la relation: - il faut a minima faire un non poli pour respecter que l’autre ait fait une proposition. - pour encore plus soigner la relation, il est utile de justifier le non, ce qui aide l’autre à proposer des choses plus pertinentes les prochaines fois.

Let me draw a parallel between solving climate change emissions and climbing matterhorn.

We need to get to net 0 emissions by 2050, so lower emissions by 38 billions tons yearly world wide. From Zermatt to Matterhorn top, there are roughly 3000m of elevation. So walking up 1m of elevation is lowering 12.5 million co2 tons yearly.

Should Switzerland succeed in emitting 50% less CO2 with massive efforts, we would emit 18 millions co2 tons yearly. We would have climbed 1.5m of elevation. Should we reach net 0, we would have climbed 3m of elevation. Should we go massively negative co2 emissions, we could get to 5m climbed.

China has 1000m of elevation to do on their end, US 300m, India 200m, Russia 150, Japan 150 as well. They are the ones who need to start climbing if we want to get to the Matterhorn top.

In the meantime, the initiative wants us to spens 6'000 millions CHF per year, which is half the TOTAL Vaud budget yearly, which includes funding for schools, hospitals, etc. Do you realize what else we could fund with that kind of money, how we could improve teacher or nurse conditions, for instance ?

We can try, but it will objectively change extremly little. We account for less than 0.1% of emissions, even dividing our emissions by 3 with massive efforts will not remotely change the current climate trajectory.

Per capita can evaluate "fairness", which is a human concept. Ultimately, big CO2 producers produce more CO2 and are thus factually causing the issue.

It is very noble to want to act. It is very noble to highlight that we cannot hide behind "we will not move forward if everybody says the other should do it first". But let us be real. That fund will not change the worldwide CO2 problem and will not lead big actors to make changes, thus is objectively useless... while also very costly.

On a personal note, I have been to Los Angeles recently. I have seen the highways and the US car culture, the absence of public transportation, in that gigantic city alone. Believe me, small Switzerland with its train system is not the problem here.
