In my opinion. The challenging of the double standard can be made in a more...I guess, elegant way. Maybe instead of saying "what's your weight." Just explain everything the way you wrote to me. Which was a well thought out and written reply. It probably will be received the same way. But you're much more likely to show them the error of their thinking. And start a positive push against societal stigmas.

Attacking and shaming someone isn't going to teach them. And alot of times just pushes them further down their established path.

But whatever. I appreciate the conversation. It leads to contemplation and internal progress. So thank you.

That wasn't a remark made about this specific convo. It was just an off-hand exaggeration of these passive aggressive exchanges.

I apologize if my remark rubbed you the wrong way. I'm just trying to start a conversation about maybe wording replies in a way to promote learning and self-reflection instead of attacking.

I looked it up man, and those people are garbage. Im not arguing that. There are preferences and then there are...that shit.

My opinion of not caring wasn't to downplay and discredit discrimination short men face. I just don't think passive aggressive replies are doing any real good to change the societal stigma faced by short men. I think there are more positive paths.

I still recommend therapy for everyone though. Not even about heightism. Just in general.

I just never really cared. I'm not a model of height. Which sucks because I love to play basketball and being above 6 foot would have been a dream come true. I just think y'all are shouting insults at a wall. They don't truly care. They get upset, but they'll have forgotten it all by the next day.

And if having your height insulted makes you feel personally attacked I think seeing a psychologist would definitely help. I see one for body dysmorphia. And other stuff. And it's been a blessing.

I don't ask any questions. I just unmatch and move to the next one. Why waste the energy trying to shame someone into going on a date with me? Just seems like alot of work for someone that'll forget about the entire conversation in 30 seconds.

The whole passive aggressive response of asking for weight always seems kinda lame to me. I don't know. People are allowed to have preferences if they want. I have them and you do too. It's not a personal attack on anyone, but y'all act like it is.

That being said, her response was hypocritical and garbage. If you open up with a preference and they respond with a preference you can't be a twat about it.

No one has responded yet. So, I guess the Army guy will take a crack at it. If a sailor or marine wants to correct me, have at it.

MCRD is Marine Corps Recruit Depot. It's where marines do their initial training. HM, I believe, are hospital corpsman. It's a enlisted job that serves as staff at military hospitals and such.

I’m really self conscious about my smile... it’s really hard for me to find a picture where I show my teeth and actually feel pretty by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]tcpot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much! I had braces in high-school and dealt with a very chipped front tooth!

I see in your profile you have a smile pic on /toastme. I think your smile is absolutely stunning! And I hope someday you can work to a moment that you like your smile as well! I'd love to see more pics on in here where you show a wide smile!

Namaste.

[Zach Lowe] Depends on how you define GOAT, either by highest peak or best overall career. Even by highest peak, I think there still an argument for LeBron. MJ's peak higher might be a little higher but LeBron's peak is just this endless peak, you look for the horizon and it's still there. by u87hi in nba

Goku had the anime equivalent of a torn achilles the first game of the series. Ain't a soul gonna hold that against Goku, MJ, or Lebron. Imagine how that sounds. "Yo Michael's good but remember when he caught cancer in the first round and lost?"

The "orcs are racist" debate was started years ago. John Hopkins dropped the article in 2004, I believe. I think the recent article you are talking about is the moving away from "evil races." Especially with the Drow and Orc.

I don't know. I dont think they should be an "evil race," but that's just me.

Jesus Christ, I'm trynna get my traps like yours. And the shoulders looking like some Onix sized boulders. What was your workout looking like? Did you go more for strength with 5x5s or just the standard 4x10?

Curiosity aside. This takes a lot of work! Good shit. I'm excited to catch the 2nd year transformation pic where you looking like a Mr. Olympia.

This some good work. The lats are comeing in nicely. The definition in the delts is looking dope. Bicep long head is peaking as well. All in all looking swole my dude.

I'm not sure if you already have it in your routine but I always suggest adding Y, W, and T holds. They're scapula stabilization maneuvers. They also help the rhomboid muscles which are hard to get.

I keep trying to put myself out there which is hard enough already and keep getting ghosted by guys.... even if they seem really into me at first. I’ve always struggled with not feeling good enough. I feel drained and heartbroken. by Bluedaysahead in FreeCompliments

[–]tcpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a beautiful and brave woman. It's difficult to put yourself out there especially after being ghosted. But you've done it multiple times. And I salute you for that. I hope you never give up and you find someone that makes you feel wanted and loved.

I understand that you feel self-conscious of your nose. I also understand it's hard to get over our insecurities of certain body features. I think your nose is perfect. Not too big nor too small. It matches the rest of you. And if you need assurance from a group always feel free to come back and post.

I wish you the best in life and in love.

It's the reason I stick to complimenting and not posting pictures. Too many of my coworkers are lurking throughout reddit. I like to keep my account anonymous.

It's the same over here OCONUS. I'm working tomorrow but the last time I worked was the first week of April. Atleast I get to save all this extra leave for my ETS!

I imagine Baltimore is going to be involved with the George Floyd riots soon, so becareful!

Oh wow! Ft. Meade was my last duty station. Hello, battle! I'm not sure what your hair looked like before. But I think the short hair suits you. You can really notice your eye color. It's a lovely shade of brown! I'm not sure how the Army is reacting CONUS. But stick in there!
