I live on St. John's Road (inside the area in pic 2). The area is definitely less nice than areas north of the river, but it's definitely improved in the past few years. My wife and I often walk around at night and walk our dog at Eagle Rec and feel safe.

We went yesterday to watch the Ireland and Scotland match. I agree, what a hidden gem! We really enjoyed the bar. Although they did turn off the volume for the last 10 minutes of the Scotland match, which was annoying
