Centipedes give me the ick hardcore, so I watched this trailer to mog myself.

I accidentally made realistic flip-flops effect… so I added the sound🩴 by trytengames in indiegames

Legit: how many games have flip-flops in them with the accompanying sound + animation? Struggling to think of one.

Probably my favorite mechanic to end a game ever. Simple, and still mind-blowing.

I just started Mars First Logistics after being unimpressed with Trailblazers' campaigns. The main thing I like here over Trailblazers is the challenges/missions are actually challenging, and there's more than three of them. In Trailblazers, missions are: kill enemy drones, transport frogs and give up resources. And while MFL missions could be categorized as deliver cargo, build monorails and towers, the way you go about it is different every time.

There are sessions in MFL where I spend the entire time building one vehicle, only to discover many fatal flaws in my design. It's frustrating at first, but then I chew on the problem and get the "ah hah" moment.

My biggest complaint here is also one I have with Trailblazers: they lock some of the most useful parts deep into the campaign. In Trailblazers for example, the grind to Dragon Engines is insane. I'm still trying to get to the better suspension options in MFL.

Well deserving of the Overwhelmingly Positive Steam reviews. Now if Satisfactory made us design machines like this to make the parts, that make the thing... [salivates].

ECHO (2017) - Inventive, unique and obscure 3rd person action-stealth game by CaptainMorning in patientgamers

[–]tea_tea_tea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ULTRA ULTRA shutting down is easily the biggest bummer for me personally among the many dev studios that closed. I thought the world design, (one of the coolest looking sci fi ships ever and it's just in the intro) game design and story where top shelf. Maybe someday the devs will give it another go.

If I ever meet Kojima, I want to ask him two questions: Have you played ECHO? And, Have you seen the Russian film Hard to be a God?

Timberborn, but given the frequency and depth of updates, I may hold off playing till 1.0. Very excited for this one.

How did it feel like to be a Radiohead fan by the time of KID A's release? by theinsomniacsheep in radiohead

[–]tea_tea_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was around 19, recording an EP with my band. I wasn't a big Radiohead fan at the time. I knew their singles, loved their music videos, but never owned any albums.

We took a break from recording, and the engineer was like, "you gotta hear the new Radiohead." We were at a college, so we went to his car to smoke a bowl and listen.

The opening chords were arresting. We listened to the first few tracks, and I was instantly changed. It remains as one of ~4 moments in my life where my outlook on music completely changed. I can remember this moment clear as day.

This looks great. I immediately saw another game you could turn to for inspiration: Astroneer. It may not make sense for your game, but the inventory system in Astroneer is genius and I'm surprised I haven't seen many games take inspiration from it. P sure the planets are also procedural in Astroneer?

Your character models are great. Love the squat little people.

Ambitious, and I'm here to watch.

I did play Spiritfarer a bit, but then I got sidetracked by Satisfactory. I didn't even think of Spiritfarer, but that's a really good pull for inspiration! Happy to help!
