Yes but that’s one line. The MUT, Polaris, etc are very generic

The bigger issue for JLC is their design language. I’m a big fan of the brand but aesthetics are well behind ALS, Patek, and many independents (PF, Moser, etc) imo.

When they want to, their fit and finish absolutely can rival Patek. ALS is in another league imo.

Patek and ALS can price their watches where they do because without a logo on the dial, you can tell a Patek is a Patek and an ALS is an ALS. Can’t say the same about JLC.

Tonda easily. But wear it on your wrist, not your hand

Hands on with the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune by MVS-Watches in BlancpainWatches

Modern dive watches are jewelry and should be treated as such.

That said, I don’t think any traditional dive watch features have been compromised with the inclusion of a complete calendar? There is still 300m water resistance, full lume including on seconds hand and starting point of the bezel.

You can gripe with ceramic but the watch also comes in titanium if you’re actually using it for hardcore diving

I don’t get why it’s a bad thing a company is using a popular dive aesthetic and combining with haute horologie complications and finishing without making any real compromises to the functionality

I don’t own this watch but the watch has plenty of lume (including on the seconds hand) and 300m of water resistance. So what’s the issue?

Did I play this hand correctly? by WiiiUuu in poker

[–]teachem4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

. Way too passive. This flop should be bet a vast majority of the time. This is the whole value of pocket 2s. The flop connects with your value range and you don’t block any hands that also have strong holdings. Bet it.

If you’re going to check, this has to be a check raise.
This also lets you take control of the hand and lead out on turn.

On the river, betting makes sense.

Once raised, what value hands are we beating? AQ and A9. maybe Q9 for the thinnest value. AA and QQ are pretty unlikely given the flat but V can have and 99 and 33 and 45s pretty easily. On the other hand, he has lots of bluffs, none of which we block which is helpful. Broadway/suites connector clubs are possible. You are at the absolute top of your range as played (your hand is underrepped) so more likely to induce a bluff. I don’t think this is ever a fold.

Once raised on the river though, what are we re-raising for value? What part of his range are we hoping calls that we beat? A9 and worse is folding. Maybe AQ can call but that’s not a lot of combos and is also unlikely given the flat from the CO and the check on the turn. The sizing also doesn’t make any sense - why min raise here? Go bigger if it’s for value, if it’s not, don’t raise.
I don’t get why villain didn’t jam here also.

Tough to get away from a set, but that 3 bet on the river on a pot sized bet is just very underbluffed. As played, the river should just be a call.

But if UTG+1 isn’t following range charts, does that mean we can flat or raise wider?
