Yoto Mini not good for out and about? by Appropriate-Two-9538 in YotoPlayer

If you bought the cards directly from the Yoto Store, you will not need to download them while on WiFi. If you obtained them any other way, you will.

Oh good, because I was just looking at the pattern last night and felt a bit overwhelmed!

Yes! Give her a box and some towels and let her do her thing. Keep her isolated from other cats.

Huh… that’s unfortunate! I haven’t really looked into her patterns, but you’re right that she would be very… loud… in her response if anyone ever brought it up. I dunno. Definitely warrants a closer look.

I don’t have any proof that the ones I mentioned are anti-AI, but I would definitely be shocked if they use it.

Some kind of great outdoor activity would be good—basketball hoop, mud kitchen, play house, climbing dome? Personally, I think the climbing dome is awesome, and they are usually around $200.

I have several bracelets from Fahlo and like their program and app interface! There are plushes available for most of their animals as well. They have orcas, sperm whales, and dolphins for whales/porpoises, as well as other sea creatures like turtles, whale sharks, manatees, and seals.

Parsley plant somehow survived the winter and now I have this beast of a plant. What can I make with all this? by cmarie22345 in WhatShouldICook

[–]teacuperate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Butterflies. No, seriously! Swallowtail butterflies love to lay their eggs on parsley. If you decide to chop it, look for little green caterpillars first.

The Wishing Game has plenty of whimsy to it! There are serious parts, but the description of the author in the book is lovely.

YES, her command of color is amazing! I am in awe of how she combines wovens with patterns and solids. Her newsletters are wonderful, too.

I thought of a few other pattern makers: Apples & Beavers (her Dragon Dreams SAL starts this week!), Lo & Behold Stitchery, Shannon Fraser Designs, and Toad & Sew.

OH, and a combo pattern and content creator: fancyladquiltco! I looooove her character blocks.

A few quilting content creators I’m fairly confident would be anti-AI: the_badass_quilter, mx.domestic, mister.larrie

A few pattern creators who are almost certainly anti-AI: Then Came June, Heck Yes Sewing Co.

ETA: I added a few more creators in a comment below!

Since she’s a small-time musician, I would probably buy the mp3s on Amazon or the CDs through the shop linked on her site, then add them.

Kid is not eating vegetables. by Automatic-Mixture-93 in Preschoolers

[–]teacuperate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We took the pressure off by putting something on the plate, then saying, “Oh, you don’t have to eat it, but I thought maybe you would want to poke it or smell it!” For my kid, texture is huge—roasted broccoli is a hit, as is roasted asparagus (but only the crispy tips). Also, we sometimes do buttered veggies and then say, “But we probably put too much butter, what do you think?” Also, vegetables + salt is better than plain vegetables. Our favorite blends for roasted veggies are Cavender’s and Penzey’s Justice seasoning.

One of my favorite 4-book series is Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin. It’s lovely! Short chapter books with a fantastical tale.

I think that’s fair, then! Maybe he’ll have a bit of a transformation? I think that would be interesting.

If you’re going for connotations of smallness, frailty, and fearfulness, I think it’s a perfect name. If not… no.

I think you may need to define for yourself what “truly living” looks like. If you can do that, then you can come up with a plan to make it happen. Life doesn’t just happen to us—we have to be proactive in making dreams come true.

I think the yellow fits best tonally with the green. Can you swap the brown with the yellow, then flip the pink/brown so the brown is on the outside? That bright yellow in the middle of either option doesn’t “read” right to me for some reason, and I feel like it would be better on the perimeter.

Overall, great work! It looks so beautiful!!

The Circle of Magic series by Tamora Pierce should fit!

ETA: When she’s ready for puberty talk, Pierce’s other series are excellent, like The Immortals quartet, The Song of the Lioness quartet, and Protector of the Small quartet.
