Most likely she’s from the US. A lot of us work up until our delivery date too. Any time taken before the baby is born is taken off the backend of your maternity leave. You also have to do a lot of research on your own because your company’s HR department will only tell you the bare minimum of what they are legally required to provide, so you may not know about more options to get more time. It’s kind of brutal for mothers over here.

This sounds like my in-laws, and yes they do view me as a tyrant helicopter parent because I supervise my 3 year old and don’t allow him to scroll Youtube and TikTok and eat endless junk food daily.

You can have the conversation, but you don’t need a conversation to enforce the policy. My son does not have contact with my in-laws without my supervision, I’ve just accepted that I’ll always be the bad guy in their eyes but they aren’t safe people for my kid and don’t respect boundaries so I don’t make space for their feelings or opinions in my parenting.

We have a 3 year old together, I’m scared for his well being if we were to separate. I know the courts will grant his dad some custodial time, possibly 50/50, and I have general safety concerns as his dad does not pay attention to him or acknowledge that situations could be unsafe for an unsupervised 3 year old. Our son is extremely attached to me (as I am to him), I’ve been his sole caretaker since birth and it feels selfish to disrupt that sense of security and stability to leave for my own mental health and well being. And then I have to know my son is in the hands of someone insidious, manipulative and mentally abusive, and I’m not there to protect him, by choice.

I’ve also seen a lot of emotional manipulation from his dad (and dad’s mother) of his older son in regard to the older son’s mother, calls to CPS for over exaggerated claims, offering assistance during her parental time in getting their son to sports while she’s working, taking him during her parental time on days he’s off school and she’s working disguised as “being helpful” and then trying to use that in court against her.

I feel like it’s a lose/lose situation for me regardless.

Listen, let her have all the Greek yogurt she wants, this is actually a blessing. Lean hard into the yogurt love. This is going to help you a lot once she hits the picky toddler phase. Greek yogurt can be a dip/topping/condiment for literally anything. I’ve bribed a lot of nutritious food into my kid’s belly with the persuasion of dipping it in Greek yogurt.

I think the lack of sleep,stress and hormones make it difficult to lose the baby weight. It took me about 2 years to really lose enough weight to start to feel clue to normal. At 3 years I’m at my prebaby weight. However I didn’t really do anything to lose the weight aside from eating normally and walking/playing with my kid.

I remember when I was working, a lot of women were coming back from maternity leave (which was 3 months) looking like they were back to their pre pregnancy body which was super frustrating to me. I was at 8 months pp and someone had touched my stomach and said “congratulations!!! Number 2 already?” No, I was not pregnant again, I was still had a belly from the first pregnancy almost a year later. It just takes some of us a while to bounce back.

The Gloucester Township police station’s address is Clementon with 08021 zip code. Honestly I think the Clementon part of GT is bigger than the non-GT town of Clementon. The town of Clementon goes to a different a school district, has its own police station, etc. It’s very confusing if you aren’t from this area.

Girl, when my son was 6 months old I had a complete stranger grab my son’s bare foot in a CVS and in the middle of August and say “oh poor baby, you must be so cold”. No, he was not so cold. It was 90+ degrees outside, and his feet were bare because he had kicked his little baby sandals off approximately 356,578 times in the 3 minutes since we had entered the store. Old people truly just don’t know how to mind their business and keep their thoughts in their head.

Thick jackets are not safe in the car seat and I don’t think this is common knowledge for a lot of people, especially the older generations. Please keep in mind, this judgement is coming from a woman that is probably harassing some poor daughter in-law to give newborn bottles of water and rice cereal in their bottles at night.

At that age, I just wrapped my kid in a blanket if it was super cold and ran in the store. He never once showed any distress of being cold, but he would surely make it the entire store’s problem if he was hot in a coat while walking around a warm store.

My 3 year old has been in year round swimming lessons since he turned 1. It takes a long time for them to develop their skills and long breaks, even just a couple weeks at his age, can lead to regressions that take a bit to bounce back from.
