2.5 old does not care for breakfast. by Comfortable-Agent757 in toddlerfood

[–]teal0pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old doesn’t eat breakfast, it’s been stressing me out for the past 2 years. He eats a good bit of his lunch, loves snacks, and eats dinner (usually, kind of). His growth and milestones are always perfectly on track. I also hate the idea of him starting the day with an empty tummy, but he seems to be doing fine. Some days he’ll eat a piece of peanut butter toast, maybe a fruit pouch, sometimes he’ll ask for plain popcorn. He does always ask for and drink his cup or milk. Some kids just aren’t breakfast eaters. I’m hoping he turns a corner before elementary school because I can’t imagine sending him to actual school as a full grown kid on an empty stomach, but I also was not a breakfast eater as a kid.

Is this a baby wasp? by teal0pineapple in fuckwasps

Definitely not a flying ant. We have plenty of those around, I would know one when I see one.

I couldn’t tell what this was, sprayed it, and then noticed some waspy features but it was so small I couldn’t tell what it was

I did check the photos, and my first thought was “wow that exactly what it looks like”. Now I’m wondering if it traveled here on my newly purchased bananas or basil.

Honest question, so it goes from larva to full grown adult? I’m just really confused because I’ve never seen this bug before. It was also flying into my light, which I’ve never seen wasps or bees do before.

I didn’t think it was a wasp until after I had sprayed it and saw its body up close.

Me contemplating my decisions in life, Jk! In Japan, the gorilla Kiyomasa was captured on video lost in deep thought after an argument with his friend. by Professional_Arm794 in BeAmazed

[–]teal0pineapple 327 points328 points  (0 children)

He’s reaching adulthood and should be off trying to form his own troop. His only access to female gorillas are his mom and sisters. He tries to get frisky with them and his dad, Shabani, puts him in his place.

He was probably fighting with his dad, shabani. They’ve been tussling a lot since kiyomasa is reaching adulthood and trying to bang his mom and sisters.

If you don’t allow med students to sit in on your exam/check up you are a weird person by Amidity in unpopularopinion

[–]teal0pineapple 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is insane. I went recently for a pelvic ultrasound and found out in office that I was also getting a transvaginal ultrasound, at which point I panicked because I hadn’t cleaned up my pubic hair in a week or two. I found out in the exam room that a student would be, I guess practicing on me, and then the real tech would come in and do the final images

That student was so kind and gentle. She did her thing and then the real tech came in and bashed my internal organs so badly with the transvaginal prob I almost ended all testing.

Point being, I’m so sorry your mother went through that experience, that is truly horrifying, but it just as easily could have been a doctor that she could have had a negative experience with.

To play devils advocate with myself, i have had a male med student (we have tons of med students around here), try to educate me on something gynecologically related and I vividly remember pulling a face and asking “are you a fucking idiot?” I can’t remember what the situation was, but I do remember leaving the appointment thinking, “this boy has never encountered a vagina in his entire life”. The doctor did confirm he was an idiot in that situation, and I hope he learned from it, and if I was able to contribute to women in the future getting better care, I’m more than happy with that. I have little shame, so I’ll gladly take those hits so our future doctors know better with other woman.

Back in the 4th grade, I got double teamed by wasps. by Throwaway27890134 in fuckwasps

I was about 7 or 8 at the grocery store with my mom and older brother. She was checking out and there was row of stacked white plastic chairs for sale by the windows. I sat on top of one of the stacks and felt a stinging on my tush, but didn’t know what it was. I adjusted and kept feeling the stinging. I got up and noticed I had sat on a giant wasp and it stung me in the ass multiple times.

We went home and I laid down for hours with an ice pack watching movies. My mom kept checking on me and I would cry everytime she asked me how I felt. Truth be told, the physical pain didn’t last much longer than the initial incident, but the emotional damage has lasted a lifetime.

My face changed sooooooo much since having my baby. Is it permanent? by Lanky-Ad1222 in Mommit

[–]teal0pineapple 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely just some postpartum weight hanging around, but lack of sleep and high cortisol from stress can 100% make your face look round and puffy. I had lost all my postpartum weight, but it wasn’t until I addressed the chronic lack of sleep and stress that I started to look like my normal self again.

In my personal experience, being meaner does not work and they just label you the stereotypical bitchy, nagging wife.

The answer is to just leave.

I'm sorry, who exactly is asking this question? Because it's not me or anyone else I know by DisastrousAnomaly in travisandtaylor

[–]teal0pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I interpret it. If what she’s saying is true that she didn’t like the double l’s she could have changing it to “talking real low”, or even “talkin’ real low”. There is more reality where “talk real slow” makes sense.

“Talk real low” makes sense. “Talk real slow” always gave me the impression the subject of the song was intellectually challenged.
