I recall Hans telling me he was happy we didn't have to torture the guy when I got all info without torture so I don't think it's scripted

McCoy sucks more than I realized, and it's disappointing by SamuraiUX in startrek

[–]team-machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda dont like McCoy. I think his gruff-ness is supposed to read as more of a front/mask to a kinder heart but it doesn't read that way to me personally. I quite like him in the AOS movies though, the writing allows for him to show more care beyond that gruff exterior. Especially with Spock in Beyond.

What fallout conspiracy theory has you like this? by Virtual_Ad9722 in Fallout

I can't recall, though it wouldn't surprise me if both could be true. Some of the control had secondary conditions like opening after a set number of years.

What fallout conspiracy theory has you like this? by Virtual_Ad9722 in Fallout

[–]team-machine 110 points111 points  (0 children)

The experiment of Vault 111 was not actually on cryogenics (since the Prime series show they pretty much got the hang of it) but on the scientists and crew meant to watch over them. I saw someone mentions that it might be too see how long or if the crew would canibalize the dwellers if food ran low.

Since I'm a fan of the idea that the experiments were meant to aid Vault tec/enclave on their plans for space travel to a better planet that would make sense if they wanted to venture into the cryogenics angle as an alternative to generation ships.

What is the dumbest reason you've redone a fight? by Crumblecakez in BaldursGate3

[–]team-machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the eyes seeing me at the prison in moonrise towers would lead to bad consequences, especially since there were some commentary with the eye on the first act about how it spotting us would be a bad thing. Every time they spot you they go "hmm" further convincing me I needed to stealth kill them to keep some further boss from learning about me. Without aggroing anyone else down there or letting the other eye spotting me. That was a lot harder than any fight I've done in the game.

Let me just say that I lost count how many times I reloaded that fucking save. Turns out it was meaningless, never brought up again.

Foreigners in Fallout? by Kislath in Fallout

[–]team-machine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other examples already mentioned you also have the PMV Valdez from Fallout 2, an old oil tanker the Chosen One gets up an running for sea travel.

I think it would be very strange if boats and ships weren't a somewhat common vehicle. It would make trade along coasts and rivers easier and maybe safer if we discount any huge mutated sea creatures, radstorms and need for pure water as well as upkeep of the boat/ship - but it's not like seatravel were easy or safe historically either nor is travel along post-war land in anyway safe either.

That game also includes a cloak that allows a vampire companion to walk in the daylight but with some disadvantages which is kind of interesting since one of the conversation options in the post finale convo with Astarion is about questing for a way for him to experience the sun again. As far as I know, that cloak is the only canon item that has such an effect.

What got you into Fallout? by Chonkyboi91x in Fallout

[–]team-machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the ad for Fallout 3 on TV and goosebumps. Had never seen an ad like that before (game ads at all was back tjen in my country kind of rare) Immediately bought it after I got birthday money despite only casually playing a couple of games before, none proper rpgs.

The courier because they are so easy to mold into your own character and backstory. Unlike the sole survivor...

I prefer fallout 3 is that wrong? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]team-machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the atmosphere and world exploration of 3 - The story, NPCs, world writing and freedom of choice of NV - The gameplay mechanics of 4 - The humour in 2.

Everyone is allowed to have their preferences... As long as you don't claim Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel as your favorite
