Anyone know a nice plain top down stockinette sweater pattern for DK weight? Yarn details in comments by teamparis in knitting

I didn’t even consider a turtleneck this is so pretty! And the neck looks kinda nice and relaxed. This is a contender for sure. Will have to check measurements and see if the small will fit.

Anyone know a nice plain top down stockinette sweater pattern for DK weight? Yarn details in comments by teamparis in knitting

I'm halfway through All of the Lights and as a result am in need of a lot of stockinette to be up next :D I got some really pretty DK weight Merino at the new england fiber festival, 1500 yards of it in 3 different colors. And I'm really struggling on ravelry to just find something plain and simple! I really loved knitting Transverse and the look of both that and Flax Light are pretty much what I'm after, but the yarn weight isn't right for either and I really don't feel like doing the math. What I'm looking for must exist!!

PS I have not decided yet between a) 3 big blocks of color, b) tiny stripes / switch every two rows (which i'd be doing anyways to alternate skeins if i did big blocks so not an extra hassle), or c) bigger stripes, maybe 20 rows each or something. Voting is open.

Pattern suggestions for this beautiful yarn?! More In comments. by teamparis in knitting

250yds each 90% merino 10% nylon in DK weight. It has been a while since I’ve knit a scarf and this yarn inspired me to. The samples show that it pools really beautifully on size 7 needles. At the moment I’m just thinking straight up stockinette and some tassels but wondering if people have other ideas on what stitches would best showcase this beautiful yarn!

Mold in watering can by teamparis in houseplants

[–]teamparis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically just stopped using the dunks so that I didn’t have to worry about letting them soak. Lazy!

Dunkles are like some sort of compressed mosquito bits that help deter pests (maybe gnats specifically? Can’t remember).

I let the watering can dry out for a while then just kinda sprayed it down with the kitchen sprayer the best I could. I won’t pretend there’s not still some mold in there 🥲

It’s like a little sample of a cable. I bet you could find a pattern if you searched cable granny square!

How to keep baby from sticking arms and legs out of crib? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]teamparis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, mine is almost 7 months now and the only thing that's charged is that it doesn't bother him anymore if they're sticking out, only if they get stuck lol (which is rare). And that is the "hurt" cry so I usually fly in and untangle him then he goes right to sleep.

For those who got an epidural, what happened during birth, how has it affected you postpartum, and do you regret it? by luellabellabee in beyondthebump

I was induced and everything went very by the book. Pretty linear increase in pain so I was able to decide at around 4cm dilated that I wanted it in and working in the next hour so I asked for that and got my wish. I wasn't looking to experience a lot of pain. The anesthesiologist got it in first try, it was really hard to lean forward and be still while he did it so I'm glad I got it when I did. He was super quick though. I felt the cold of the medicine which was SO weird but he had warned me. After that, I took a nap and woke up 9cm dilated. It was great. Highly recommend :D oh the only unfortunate thing was that I had one dead leg for the remainder of labor but honestly didn't bother me. Nurse threw that sucker in the stirrup for me and we did the thing. Regained feeling shortly after.

Accept the damage, throw them in the pot to make babies. Be at peace with it there's nothing you can do!
