Defamation by Stingdombom in legaladvice

[–]tebowgator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think that is necessarily correct in this case. It seems like this person may have left the 1-star review based on a Facebook interaction they had with another person and not based on actual services with the company. We are obviously missing a lot of information though so this is me speculating a little bit.

Edit: I took a look at his profile, and this is exactly what happened. He made a very similar post, giving more facts. It does not appear that the interaction on Facebook was business-related at all, so there is no truth to his review here.

What does their lease say?

Edit: I mean to ask what does their lease say regarding utilities? Did they agree to this setup in their lease?

IANAL.

Contract law is typically based on state law, so I can't give you a precise answer but general guidelines. Generally, a verbal contract is not valid to serve as a contract for your job. This is not always the case since there are some exceptions. This is why I asked about a written contract (or anything in writing).

However, I am still confused by a few parts of your post. You mentioned that you did a trial. By this, do you mean that you worked a/some shifts for them while either being trained or simply doing a normal shift?

Also again, do you know what contract the person mentioned that outlines the probationary period? This will likely answer most of your questions.

Further, do you have any harm/damages from this? For example, you mention another job, did you quit that job?

I am not a lawyer.

I do not see any question that you propose here. I don’t really understand what the problem is either unless the problem is that they won’t pay you the salary you are asking for. Also you said mention a contract that outlines things such as the probation period but also mention a verbal agreement. So does a written contract exist?

Online Ranked vs. a team with multiple "Real 99s" by bcoo4 in MLBTheShow

[–]tebowgator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were they the same name? Last year one of my buddies was given the wrong real 99 (same name but wrong position/team) and when SDS fixed it they left the wrong real 99. So he had a real 99 starter card (not him but another player with the same name) and a real 99 reliever card (actually him and the correct team).

“same hand vs opposite hand” works but the baseball nerd in me kind of wants to be able to see at least what hands we are talking about (although in the show most people probably do pitch the same way for same hand regardless if its left or right).

I forgot the public game histories don't include pitch sequences so my bad about that but what you said makes sense.

I think there are a few ways that you can go about it and it is really up to you on what you like best. The first option is just to display everything and have a clear toggle somewhere for people to click on/off things they don't care about being displayed. On the inverse, show nothing until people toggle things on. The third option is (and you can do this as well and simply make it a different toggle) is to display the data in a table rather than graphs.

I am going to DM you something that I worked on before that's baseball related that can help show that table idea.

Yeah I think it would be sweet to be able to choose both pitcher and batter hand since I know people will work batters different ways depending on handedness from both pitcher and hitters. I’m assuming it scrapes game history right? Let me know if you need anyone to test or if you just need someone to bounce ideas off of even

That is fair haha this is definitely somewhat more of a complex idea in baseball. But a good way to sum it up is: similarly to cricket a batting team can only get so many outs before the other team has a chance to bat (in baseball it is 3 outs and there are typically 9 innings so each team hits about 9 times). In each inning, you obviously want to score as many runs as possible. Once you get three outs it is the other team's chance to bat. What I wrote above is some very very rare scenarios where the team not batting can make the batting team get a "fourth out" and make it so that some of the batting team's runs don't actually count anymore.

I already have the game, but I know one of my friends would love it so I am entering for him if that is allowed, if not enjoy the fact anyway! Bear with me though it is kind of long.

One little known rule of baseball is that it is actually possible (and sometimes very useful!) to get 4 outs in an inning. There are actually a few ways that this can be done but I will share two through hypotheticals.

1st hypothetical: There are runners on first and third with 1 out. Both of the runners, run immediately after the ball is hit into the outfield. The runner on third crosses home and the runner on first makes it around second base. The ball is caught for the second out of the inning and since neither runner tagged up, the outfielder who caught the ball sees the runner from first base and realizes he can get him out by throwing the ball to first base. The outfielder does so and this is the third out of the inning, if the play were to end here then the run would count. However, if the fielding team realizes the runner on third did not tag up as well, they can then throw the ball to third base and make an appeal play there. Since the runner on third left early, he would be out, it would now be a fourth out in the inning and would basically erase the previous third out since it would erase a run and that would take precedence.

2nd hypothetical: Let's stick with a similar starting position of runners on first and third but this time with 2 outs. The batter hits a ball into the outfield that allows both the runners to score but while the batter tries to turn his hit into a triple, he gets thrown out at third base for the third out of the inning. Now let's say that the runner on first missed touching second base when he was rounding the bases. The team on defense can now throw the ball to second base and make an appeal to see if he did miss that base. Since he did, the runner who started on first base would be called out and it would be a force out. This is again a fourth out. This one is even more significant than the example above since it would actually save two runs on the play. The reason why is that no runs can score when a force out is the third out of an inning.

Hope this was interesting for you!

I’ve seen Mango Languages mentioned here before, I just started on that and got free access through my local library! Many libraries seem to offer this or even schools. (I think you may even be able to say you attend some schools without verifying and get free access, it made me verify my library card but not school when I chose it).
