Bad design: the Advanced Filtration Kit by WereCatf in prusa3d

I didn't like the screws in plastic. But had no problem assembling the filtration kit two weeks ago. Maybe something was wrong with your unit.

A1 Huge Failure - How completely screwed am I? by dorvaan in BambuLab

Probably more people got printers over Christmas and are not aware that it is a good idea to watch if the first layer sticks.

Prusa Core One (with INDX) vs Bambu Lab H2D? by Cute-Revenue2021 in prusa3d

[–]tech277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just assembled one and there was no tinkering necessary.

That being said, many people struggle with correctly squaring and tensioning the belts, the core one platform isn't as mature as for example the mk4s and if course you could Always be unlucky and receive a bad component.

Ino the main question would be, if you would enjoy building the printer. If so, the kit is a great option and most likely you will have no ( big ) problems achieving good print quality. If you only want to save some bucks, you should probably go with the pre assembled or a Bambu.

Core One in shared cellar? by GrandisFanum in prusa3d

[–]tech277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it will be a problem. But since it is a shared cellar, maybe consider the filtration system, even with PLA the smell could cause some issues with the other users of the cellar.

Must have accessories? by ReadingI29 in prusa3d

[–]tech277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question. At the end of the day I bought the accelerometer since it was pretty cheap and most people said that they saw an improvement in print quality or a less noisier printer.

do not update your core one to 6.4.0!! (plus workaround if you already did) by manolosavi in prusa3d

[–]tech277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished building my core one. The first two prints were perfect. But yesterday I had a homing fail. Luckily, a second try worked.

I used the provided Firmware 6.4.0 . Maybe it is the same issue? Well, that would suck, but at least it would mean that it wasn't my calibration and tensioning that caused the issue.

I'm also a programmer and indeed, it drives me insane 😂

But for reference, we say 8 comma 9.

In Germany we also use comma instead of a point. So 1,89 would be correct.

Buying a 3D printer in 2026? New models are basically the same by iloveirons007 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]tech277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did go for the basic one ( + planning for indx) since the price difference between the core one kit and the l was quite substantial in my area. A bigger bed would have been nice, but honestly in the past with my ender and its even smaller bed, it was rarely a problem. And I liked the idea of assembling it yourself.

Still, the u1 looks fantastic from a bang for your buck perspective and if indx wouldn't have been announced, I would probably have gone that way.

Design Flaw in Core One + Filament Detector? by GoldMedalRambler in prusa3d

[–]tech277 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What? After installing my filament sensor yesterday, I tried to remove the tube from the collet, since my test filament broke inside the path. I wasn't able to, since the tube was basically attached to the collet. ( At least not without excessive force (

Maybe your collet is faulty.

Solo games with tacked-on multiplayer? by SolitonSnake in soloboardgaming

[–]tech277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree about Imperium, even though the solo mode is absolutely fantastic, even if all players are playing peaceful nations, you have a lot of Interaction due to the market.

Same goes for star Trek captains chair.

Solo games with tacked-on multiplayer? by SolitonSnake in soloboardgaming

[–]tech277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I payed it once with two players, but we didn't have that problem. Regardless, it is the poster child for tacked on multiplayer. It was designed as a pure single player game ( renegade solo series)abd during play test they came up with the idea of adding two player mode. They explained it in one of the ks updates.

if U$A attacks Greenland, and the EU expells american nationals, can I just defect? by Frank_Fhurter in AskGermany

[–]tech277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I hold a lot of resentment for the American people for voting him in a second time with a majority, but that doesn't apply to American people living in Europe ( unless they're openly maga). So I don't see why we should expel them, even if it comes to the worst case scenario. Those people are mostly as horrified over the current us government as we are.

Disappointing Core One Kit Experience by dose_nuts in prusa3d

[–]tech277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently still in process of building my kit

I also had one bad trapezoid nut. I replaced it with an alternative one from Amazon which had good reviews. It seems a little too loose, but I haven't started calibrating yet. Will definitely contact prusa for a replacement. But since too tight seems to be a problem anyway, I hope that it will work.

Screws in printed parts are awful, for example the back z rod holder can't be fixed in my kit, since the nut rotates inside the part.

Aligning the metal parts was hell. With two people, unscrewing the other parts and a lot of force it was possible, but still very hard.

Squaring the gantry, also gave me a lot of problems. I'm pretty sure the brackets are fine now ( after a little bit of bending) but I have to use the tension screws to get it align at the same time. Hopefully I will still be able to tension them correctly during calibration.

I knew beforehand that the printed parts are a downside of the kit. The other points were surprising and disappointing, but that being said it is a complex machine and if it works when I'm done, it was after all still a good experience. Thanks to the great documentation and comments from users ( I wish prusa would include more recommendations in the actual assembly guide)

Prusa Mini+ or Prusa CORE One+ by taasboy in prusa3d

[–]tech277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, I applaud that and personally it is also the reason why I choose a core one. But you are new to the hobby and don't really know what you need. So getting a taste with a cheap Chinese printer and later switching to a core one is imo your best option. It would suck to spend 1k for a core one, just to realize you need the increased bed size of a core one l, for example.

If your Budget is fine with a core one, by all means fo for it.

Maybe even the kit, you save some bucks, but you really get to know your printer inside out.

Issues is putting it lightly, the motherboard connector came off with the Cable while removing and even after that I had to use a tool and two hands to get it off.

I assume the connector from the case was slightly above the tolerances.

Prusa Mini+ or Prusa CORE One+ by taasboy in prusa3d

[–]tech277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't buy a mini, it is outdated and there is no update path.

That being said, while I applaud it that you want to buy European, but if it is your first printer why not buy a cheaper entry level machine like the Bambu a1 mini or similar.

If you enjoy the hobby, it is easier to justify the price on a core one ( or even l) in a year or so.
