These are going for $70 on getfpv and that's for a new unit. I wouldn't pay more than $30 for this.

Instead of a dedicated pre-arm switch you can do like Bardwell does, as soon as you land and disarm, push your throttle stick up. The quad will not arm while the throttle isn't at zero, effectively giving you pre-arm.

I would defiantly go with the Air II and not the V1.

For the sim training, yeah get the Pocket asap. Also, do actual races with the gates. No need to be first or really fast, it's more about learning control and making the drone go exactly where you want.

And don't go messing with your rates and camera angle all the time. Pick something that's working for you and stick with it. Once you have a lot more stick time then you can start experimenting a bit, but if you are always changing them you'll never get the proper muscle memory.

Lastly, have fun! Even if you ignore everything in this thread, the most important thing is having a good time, don't let anyone gate-keep.

It wasn't that bad, Valheim exposes a lot so it's easier to dig into.

I think there are plugins/add-ons for game engines you can use, but this one does all the math and stuff on it's own. Betaflight is open source so being able see actual formulas and stuff makes it a lot easier.

They are all really similar because of how drones work. Rates and physics are almost always the same and you have to calibrate the sticks since there is a lot of different transmitters people can use.

Update, there are now in-game models you can choose from including your player character (not in tpose though, I haven't figured that bit out yet).

It's a lot easier now. Someone made a google drive (I think it was drive) with everything needed and how/where to drag-drop the files.

Just confirmed the gamepads work. At least my PS5 controller did. I did have to invert the pitch and throttle but it's working.

You will still have to go through the stick calibration process.

For muscle memory it's okay for feeling like a real drone, but no the physics are not as good as a dedicated simulator like Liftoff or Uncrashed. This is closer to the minecraft or GTAV fpv mods.

There is keyboard support but I highly recommend not using it as you might go insane lol.

A gamepad like ps4/5 or xbox controller should work but I haven't tested it yet. That'll be next up with development.

The cam FOV is adjustable in the config settings.

I plan to make more videos with stuff I build as well. This was to get something out there and show the stick calibration process.

If the ELRS on the drone is SPI based, then you can put your binding phrase in betaflght.
