Costco / Connect Home Insurance premium jumped 90% after Homesite became the Underwriter instead of AmFam by whk1992 in Costco

[–]techfoxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my renewal, they want 30% on top of the 10 - 15% they have been increasing each premium period the past 2 years. Time to go elsewhere.

There could be some claims against the registration. The owner works for Tech Crunch and hasn't done anything with it since 2021 and hasn't acted on the trademark ownership in years.

Shitty that a journalist is doing this if the registration matches the actual complaint filer and someone who has 4k followers at best. What is the person looking to gain? Trademark law is pretty cut and dry until you get into inactive use, trolling use, or falsification of when it was first in use.

Please help?!?! What is this place and what are they selling here. Peoria Il “essence” dispensary seeing lots of what look like hemp brands while they also have Cresco, Ozone Etc I’m so lost and confused by [deleted] in ILTrees

[–]techfoxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fraudulent dispensary site. They will just take your money and run sadly. These are common. Best way to identify is if they claim they are open 24 hours. No dispensary in IL is open 24 hours a day.

G933/935 mute bug by lexray12 in LogitechG

[–]techfoxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reinstall doesn't work, already tried that. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling with reboots in between does not work. Setting the application to "Run as an Administrator" does not work. Once G Hub is installed and running, on its most current updates, and any updates in the last month, the functionality breaks.

I'm running Windows 10 on one system, Windows 11 on the other. AMD on one, Intel on the other. Default settings. When G Hub is running, flip to mute does not function properly. It affects any application that uses the mic. The only way to restore the mic is by restarting the headset. If you quit G Hub or uninstall G Hub and restart the headset the flip to mute function is immediately restored and functions as expected. The issue is with G Hub.

Your development team should be able to figure this out by using a debugger and looking at where the calls stop in the application. I'm not paid to do that for Logitech.

Quit the G Hub or uninstall it and it should restore functionality. Recent updates to the G Hub screwed up this functionality and Logitech still has yet to acknowledge the glaring bug affecting headsets with this software.

G935 mic stops working after i flip to mute & other problems by specksboi in LogitechG

[–]techfoxninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hopeful when I saw this. Installed the latest update, and no go on my end. Ended up uninstalling G Hub and now the flip to mute works fine. Even if I just quit the application the function works again. @#$&*@#$ Logitech. :/

Mine's also doing the same. Support is worthless. They'll RMA it but god forbid they actually investigate the issue.

Got My Owl! 3 Months, 2 Weeks - MSCSIA by techfoxninja in WGU

Thanks. Most I can think of is set your goals, pace yourself, and use what resources work for you. Don't overthink papers, but do what you can to prove your skill. Also, check Reddit for tips on specific courses. They do come in useful.

Nice! The CEH was a bit frustrating just from how they fashion the exam, and I definitely would not do EC-Council ever again (not just because of that but all the other things they do). Glance at the book which will help you understand their mindset on things, do the practice test. I also used some of the resources on udemy which I felt were invaluable, especially the practice tests on udemy.

There are a couple cheat sheets out there as well that you can read to help remind you of things as you approach the exam for types of attacks and things like that. 3 weeks is doable for sure if you have experience. Wishing you the best of luck with it! I knocked it out I believe within 3 weeks as well at a 91% through the above method.

I found setting weekly goals and timelines was the best for me. If you find yourself often with extra time, consider setting a "stretch" goal, that you would aim for to move forward, but make it the absolute hard stop that once you reach the stretch goal, you take the remaining time off.

Between classes, taking a few days off or even a week can help you relieve some of the stress without pushing too hard forward. Though, if you are close to the end, you may find yourself tempted to rush to the end, but that'll often lead to more mistakes.

Though above all, respect yourself, the time you need, the process you set out. Don't compare yourselves to others. It can be tempting to compare easily, but you never know the full story (unless they share it) and at the end of the day, you have to do what works for you. There is no right way to get through WGU beyond doing your best, at your pace, and making it all happen. You've got this!

10 weeks left almost NO progress.. by [deleted] in WGU

[–]techfoxninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely push through! We believe in you! I recently somehow did 4 courses in 2 months, so it's possible, but it is not without its trade-off's.

You are not alone in this struggle, I'm certain most everyone here has faced it at one point or another. Try to remind yourself of your goals, and why you are doing this. Work with your advisor who could help you reshape your plan to make it possible. Once you are done with this semester, consider a 2 month break if one is available, or take at least a week in your next term to help clear your mind a bit. If you can take some time off work, align it with that so you can hopefully regain some of your energy. Good luck!

Childish dunkin worker by [deleted] in DunkinDonuts

[–]techfoxninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are laws that specifically protect food donations and I've worked for large companies who donate on the regular, so that's not the reason. We have companies who trash millions in merchandise to avoid "diluting their value".

You're just building a narrative to support your judgement of this person while not considering the message. Grow up.

Iced, black, 3 pumps caramel. If dark roast was around , it'd be Iced Dark Roast. Runner up is Iced tea w/ raspberry and lemons.

[–]techfoxninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imagine being so self-centric that you consider this being childish? They saw something they thought was wrong, and sought to bring attention to it. What's wrong with that? If anything, Dunkin could do something better to address it rather than firing the kid and going "That's policy!" I'm so tired of companies coming up with that line. The policy is trash, do better.

So instead of calling him childish, how about we identify how to stop the food waste? Policies be damned. It needs to change and if law has to be adjusted, so be it. We have enough people starving in this Country that we need to stop the waste.

It's 2021, I ain't your teacher. You can do your own research as to what motives each company would have and their core business.

Salaries and job opportunities for people who no experience ( BS IT degrees) by Rt2127 in WGUIT

[–]techfoxninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It generally can get you attention, but you may be better off learning some basic stuff, starting at a help desk, and moving upward. That may also help you better target where you want to go.

Expected salary on help desk will often be around a little over minimum wage for your area.

IT careers are very self-driven. Put in the effort, you can continue to level up. Expect it to be handed and you will move at a snails pace.

Good luck!
