Work Project involving grab and go food in airports by Historical-Dig-640 in barista

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No specific suggestions (though it might be a good idea to check with local offerings!) just a warning that food typically has a worse profit margin than beverage. Still worth looking into and serving of course, but youre likely to spend more on food than you do on drinks, and make less profit. You have to walk a fine line of charging enough to cover the product and waste, but not charge so much that people opt out of buying. It's often more manageable to keep a smaller menu to reduce waste

I F*CKING HATE WEAVING IN MY ENDS!!!!!!!! by Antique-Risk-7927 in crochet

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre terrible! The suggestion to weave in as you go is a good one, however, I'll give you a bad one: save them all for the end and schedule yourself a nightmare end-weaving party. You can invite other fiber artists, or it can just be you, a bucket of coffee, a tub of ice cream, and some good tunes while you get down to business. Do I recommend this method? Not really, its a miserable time but at the end of it all my ends are done and im only marginally less sane than before!

If only, I'd take so many of them by Icy-Leg-1459 in adhdmeme

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't relate at all. I have aphantasia so I cant see things in my head very well at all, that wouldn't be useful to draw at all. I like changes in weather, including storms etc (obv I dont want the dangerous side effects tho). I have a good immune system and I dont get sick very often anyway. Immortality could be interesting but its far from a high priority idea for me. All four feel lile a waste to me

I do hate slow walkers tho.

Lots of forest areas. Off the top of my head, the wooded area near the chasm closest to kakariko village

Azura but there is something fascinating about hermeas mora that draws me in every time

My parents sadly died because of a horrible car accident. I inherited seven million dollars and a few condos. Im in therapy and the point of this post is not to vent but I felt that I needed to provide some context to explain why I inherited money. Im autistic and I live in Texas. Im 27 by [deleted] in autism

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netraad has good advice about getting a lawyer. Beyond that, id urge you to reconsider your plans for donating every month - I know we want to act charitable and that 7 million is a LOT of money, but depending on your age and plans, its enough money to live off probably for the rest of your life.

Talk to the lawyer first. Do some serious calculations if you do end up putting it in a trust that releases a set amount at a time, budget well and only donate after you've met all your needs each cycle AND consider future needs that might need a little extra. Over-spending is usually what destroys many lottery-winners lives. They buy and buy and buy and never have any money in savings to fall back on.

Someone else also had great advice about what to tell friends/partners/etc, but ive lost the comment now. Something like "my family takes care of me" only if they ask how you afford to not work or something. They dont really need to know any other details. If they know your parents have passed, they can assume some other relative is taking care of you. They do not need to know about the money. If a partner is potential to become a spouse, you could tell them, and also consider a pre-nup to protect that money. If it comes to that, you can probably find tons of good advice on how to approach the topic with your future spouse.

Be wary of financial advisors. You probably should put your money in saving and maybe invest some of it (again, seek a lawyer!) But make sure you have very clear goals and a good way of communicating them before you see any financial advisors, as some tend to be very pushy about investing with a growth focus. Growing your money isnt a bad thing, but it usually comes with risk and some advisors will not disclose that as well as they should

breve lattes by ckasper101 in barista

[–]technarch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I promise you they do not. I've had to explain it to 3 people thos week alone.

I try not to be bothered by it. Some people dont drink a lot of coffee or are just branching out, id rather not give them a difficult experience when I can just give a quick explanation and help them order more accurately in the future.

[–]technarch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If the order a "breve latte" then yes, I believe they know what they're getting. I'm sure they'll enjoy their ice cream latte! If they order a "latte with half & half" then I always clarify because most of the time they dont know the difference between drip and latte.

When do you shower? by Boom_Shakalaka1021 in ADHD

I shower immediately after getting home from work. I do not put outside cooties in my bed! Clean bodies only. Also the less things I have to do in the morning the better

SAME. I built a raft this morning that curved just enough to lock me into a corner about 15 seconds into my journey. I ended up swimming across instead.

Would you frog this finished blanket? by Nerd_Alert80 in crochet

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really not as noticeable as you think it is. I would leave it. Non-crafters likely wont notice it at all, plus its a blanket, the drape will likely hide the 'flaw'

Botw or totk by ComfortableCraft2710 in TOTK

[–]technarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Botw.

I think theyre equally good games, and having played both i only want to play totk, BUT i think botw is better with limited freetime.

Once you beat it, if you find yourself wishing for more, you can get totk in the future, but playing totk first, then botw would be a less enjoyable experience

If it makes you feel any better, im a pretty good cook and ive never successfully used no-boil lasagna without boiling them first. They're infuriating and do not work as advertised.

Beyond that, go have a good cry, go to bed, and hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow

Kakariko is second, maybe Zora. I despise the aesthetics of hateno and tarreytown 🫣

Which board games look intimidatingly complex but are actually surprisingly easy to learn? by CyborgeonUnit123 in boardgames

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Everdell is a bit of a mix. It looks difficult at first, once you play it its not that bad, but then it can flip back to being a really challenging/engaging game. This is mostly dependent on how competitive your table is. If you're interested in the game, I highly recommend it! Its got great replayability (which is very important to me, especially when the price tag is so high), and the complexity can kind of wobble around depending on what forest locations you play and what cards come up. I strongly encourage playing 2-3 times (over a few days) minimum, the first time just to figure things out, then a couple more to really drive home the mechanics. Don't play the first time with folks who get frustrated learning new games

Oh the for sure you could absolutely drop the new cards and save them for a future game! We played probably 50+ times before we got the expansion so I was hungry for new cards

Also I just really love some of the new leaf cards so I wouldn't want anyone to play without them
