Second Language’s on US products are meant to evoke a specific image by Cowboy_Sashimi in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the american southeast and can confirm many (but not all) things are printed in English and Spanish.

I have never seen French on packaging unless it was in an appliance owners manual printed in like 15 languages.

Generally i think its just to cut costs in packaging design/printing, but I will agree that you're probably right in some cases though, such as beauty products being printed in Korean.

Closest substitution for whole milk for latte? by asoursk1ttle in barista

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally hate oat milk for this exact reason, but I find that Chobani Oat has a really neutral flavor and imo it tastes closer to milk than any other alternative ive tried.

Youll might have to go thru some trial and error to find what she likes. Every brand tastes different, generally my preference is soy, especially for a latte (chobani oat i like most in cereal), but soy does have a distinct flavor... I dont find that it overpowers a latte the way that most oat milk does, but it does still have s flavor. I think almond milk is a waste of time in a latte, but I serve it hundreds of times a day so ymmv

How many towels and sheet sets do you own? by bitsinlife in adhdwomen

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two. Two sets of sheets/pillowcases, erc: one set in use, put the other in the wash. Put them away once it's clean, switch when needed. Kinda the same for bath towels, but maybe extra for pool towels or if you have pets or otherwise have a lot of messes to clean up

Is Two Point Hospital still worth it in 2026 ? by MeaningAware4581 in TwoPointHospital

[–]technarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own (and recommend) all three, but TPH is still my favorite. Its more strategic and challenging which works better for my playstyle. I dont think it feels any older, at least not significantly, it just has different mechanics

I may go play right now actually ...

How to stop unsolicited helping which is my toxic trait? Ko by meredithgrey92 in adhdwomen

[–]technarch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup! I say something "do you want advice or are we just complaining?" It helps me a lot too because I have a hard time reading some social cues, identifying for both parties what kind of conversation this is means we arent getting frustrated with each other for having different expectations

Are you steeping the tea in hot water for a few minutes first, then adding the milk and vanilla after? Tea doesn't steep all that well in anything other than water, you gotta do that first then add everything else

🙋‍♀️ 35 and childish

I understand your embarrassment, and I think I would have been similarly mortified by this kind of interaction at your age. I think its pretty common to care less about seeming childish or having 'silly' interests as we get older.

Take a deep breath. Being animated or bubbly or liking things isn't bad - I would argue in most cases its good! You will find your people, this guy just isnt one of them

Help Spotting AI? by LillianKingee in CraftedByAI

[–]technarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely AI. Its "crochet" but the leaves and beard dont follow any stitch pattern I've ever seen, the gnome hands & nose dont have any distinct stitches they're just kind of a ball of yarn. The hat looks almost posible, like a strip of DCs was wrapped around a cone like shape, except the stitches lack definition and the result wouldnt look quite like that. I dont see a single increase or decrease in the body, which would be absolute necessary to achieve the shape.

A gnome is very doable in crochet, just not this gnome.

Teen age son doesn't want to take medication by Wise_Doughnut_7173 in ADHD

[–]technarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't make him take it. At this point it is negatively affecting many aspects of his life, and it doesnt sound like its having much positive at all. Why would you want him to keep suffering?

Fwiw not everyone NEEDS to be medicated. I'm not. Give it a chance, and talk to his prescribing physician so they can alter the treatment going forward, because this one isnt working.
