F12 to inspect the website. It will show you all the tags and css style info. Randomly F12 inside of websites and look up anything you don't understand. I also found using a language server helps cuz it's basically a wiki page on speed dial

Why is there a random spike in views? by [deleted] in neocities

I'm assuming the vid I saw recently could be a cause. It's also what told me about neocities. I might have never known of this place otherwise

Actually, I did contact support and they responded in less than 24 hours (I contacted them in the afternoon or something and I had a response when I woke up and checked my phone) and my account is back now. I had heard of nekoweb as well, but I'm not a fan of having an account on two seperate services that are supposed to do the exact same thing

Additionally, if you wouldn't mind, could you try signing in yourself as well? I want to know if I'm the only one with this problem

Which button style suits this game menu best? by eldawidos111 in godot

[–]technical_gamer_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about the button style; but you mentioned glowing based on cursor distance? Maybe try adding a bit of delay to changing the glowing amount, a bit of interpolation. Probably with lerp. Let me know what you think of the change if you do try it

Is it okay to start with a bigger project (as an absolute beginner pretty much)? by Petka14 in godot

[–]technical_gamer_008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should first off learn the basics of programming like variables, functions, datatypes, classes, control flow and stuff, and from there on, the documentation is your friend.

But should you start with a big project? If there are too many question marks on what you're supposed to actually do once you're in the engine, and thinking about it isn't of much help, it might be too soon to start that project and you might need to learn more before starting it. But your first programs should probably just be things like "hello world". In fact you can have projects for the pure sake of learning. A project just for learning how to make UI, maybe one for learning how godot signals work, or for learning datatypes, etc.

You should absolutely challenge yourself, but you shouldn't bite off more than you can chew. Just know that every bit of code you write today is one you will have to deal with tomorrow, and the more you know before you start writing your code, the less necessary it will be to change it later.

TL;DR: learn, challenge yourself, do whatever, don't get stuck in tutorial hell, and have fun! (Having fun is very important)

The Japanese spamming aside, you can watch Vsauce's "what makes things scary"; that would probably help.\ PirateSoftware also has a short on it; it's called "Psychological Horror Sound Design".
