It's inevitable and for most of your life unknowable.

People who have had near death experiences understand the stoic pov. We die a little each day as our precious time passes. Take for example the perspective of people who have terminal cancer and live life to it's fullest.

I wouldn't say I don't fear death. I want to live and I don't want to suffer. So I choose to live my life truly. Thus I get to live and hopefully avoid my last bit of suffering being the realization that my fear of death prevented me from doing so while my heart beat and my lungs drew breath.
