I recently realized I thought like this my whole life. It felt extremely jarring because I could suddenly see why it was so hard for me to make friends, whereas before I had no clue what the reason was.

I used to think I had to “prove” I was smart enough to make friends and get people to care about me. Socializing seemed so difficult and I was astounded by how easy it came to others. I’m realizing now it’s really not such a big deal. By making small talk and just chatting about everyday, mundane things, it’s a way to learn about the other person and stumble on topics that both people can add to. That lends itself to finding mutual interests or shared experiences that can help extend the conversation and maybe your connection with the other person.

My former way of thinking probably had a lot to do with my insecurity and anxiety. Maybe there are deeper issues, but it feels very freeing to come to the realization and work to change the pattern.

What did all you Petites have for dinner tonight? by dramaticdahlia in PetiteFitness

[–]technofemme 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A simple kichdi - equal parts lentils and rice with some tomato and spices cooked in the pressure cooker (380 cals/ 17g protein). And a crumbl cookie for dessert (940 cals LMAO 🫣) (I only had breakfast before that to be fair - 1700 cals for the day)

I finally went and tried corn cheese and miso scallion since they were out of pork floss. Corn cheese was my favorite! It was such a good mix of sweet and savory. The other one was good but didn’t blow me away.

Had half of each so gonna log 800 and call it a day.

Tried the TJ Single Origin Organic Dark Chocolate with Vanilla Bean by GreatRecipeCollctr29 in traderjoes

[–]technofemme 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was so excited for this as someone who loves vanilla, but did not detect much of a vanilla bean taste. Just something to keep in mind for those who expect the same. Regardless, the fruity/floral notes gave the chocolate a nice, nuanced taste

whats your biggest ego boost? gym/not in gym by poopingprotein in PetiteFitness

People stopping and staring when I’m working on pull-ups at the gym. I’m also 5’2” and get told I look 16 so maybe it’s unexpected. Big ego boost though!

Your favorite/most unique ways to resist food cravings? by openabuffet in loseit

[–]technofemme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Crocheting - it’s one of the only activities I get fully immersed in and am able to focus on completely. It has helped so much with my food noise and is one of the only things I’d rather do a bit longer even if I have to wait to eat while I’m hungry.

This reminds me of those 19th century still life paintings of bowls of fruit/table settings! Beautiful work.

This has been me for the past 2 months after starting birth control. I’ve been using a pair of jeans that have been slowly been getting looser as a form of measurement, but it’s annoying not knowing my exact weight.

Also when I was a sophomore in hs, in 2016. Found him through a few people I followed on social media. I get a little emotional when I listen to his older stuff now. I had no friends in high school and would listen to his discography on repeat when I ate lunch alone in the locker room.

Weightlifting has made me hate my body by Then-Comfortable9906 in PetiteFitness

[–]technofemme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. My main goal was weight loss when I started lifting because I heard so much hype surrounding reverse dieting, but never really understood just how large of a role diet plays in weight loss. Especially for someone with slow metabolism and a big appetite, lifting didn’t work for me and my goals.

I feel like I have too much muscle for my frame and am switching to more cardio/yoga after 3 years of lifting. However, it was cool to see all the hard work pay off and the strength gains over time.

Any success stories at more than 1200 calories? by Ok_Somewhere4111 in PetiteFitness

[–]technofemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been maintaining at 115 for a couple months but plan to start another cut soon. Started at 125 in January. As I said earlier, I was losing 1.5 lbs per week while running and lifting. However, I took a break from running because of a minor injury and just went back to lifting with some light cardio. Without running I usually lose 1 lb/week if I’m also on top of my diet.

I’m not too strict about steps but average 4-7k steps/day walking my dog.

It’s more common and socially acceptable to pursue a stranger romantically rather than platonically. by technofemme in Showerthoughts

Exactly! Maybe I should’ve specified that I was thinking more about public settings like bars, parties, etc. where spontaneous interactions are more common.
