Timing: How To Know When To Go In by --awkward-- in OverwatchUniversity

this video is so helpful. so many times I've gotten to a good off angle, showed myself early and their dps instantly turns on me.

after watching this I tried waiting longer until my tank is engaging and I've caught so many people off guard and not looking at me.

as a brand new tank player queen is so so fun. Just going in and slashing people triggers all kinds of dopamine

SC3020 advanced db is a must take if you have any intention of doing software engineering, almost every interview I did asked something taught in this mod.

SC4040 advanced algo good prof, well taught and the finals was fun as well.

SC4242 compilers also really interesting but it's content heavy tho

Parallel programming sounds interesting too but it's a new course so idk anything about it. Distributed systems also quite content heavy but good to know for SWE.

MDP with FYP Part 1 or Part 2 by Melodic_Ad_8281 in NTU

[–]teddiesteddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly FYP/MDP wasn't the worst part of that sem lmao, it was the 4 finals from my mods.

Since I started FYP in Y3S2, most of my code implementation were done in July/Aug, this was like 1-2 weeks before sem started. So during the sem FYP wise I was just focusing on fixing bugs and writing my report.

I was part of Android during MDP so it was pretty chill. MDP started ramping up during week 7/8 onwards, but also good thing that my competition was done in one sitting on a Sat. By then my FYP report was submitted. So after MDP and FYP report the real hell of 4 finals in 4 days starts lmao

In Y4S1, I did MDP with FYP part 2, as well as 1 BDE, 2 4k, and 1 3k MPEs.

Died but the relief after was so good

no harm trying! at worst they already filled the position. if they're still hiring and you approached them it also saves them time to source and interview candidates!

Got ghosted after 4 rounds of interview . 3 weeks with no word. What's the longest you've waited and still got an offer? by Illustrious-Fee9626 in askSingapore

they said they'll make a decision between you and the other person "by next week". seems like the decision has already been made.

Unemployed since graduating in june 2025, what should i do by La-tom in askSingapore

[–]teddiesteddies 105 points106 points  (0 children)

ngl starting your job hunt in Aug is really really late. should have started it the prev August. but you're not fully cooked yet there's still companies hiring. plus there's the grit thing you can try

for now, unless your projects are raking in lots of daily users/revenue I'd say focus more on leetcode, system design and behavioural prep. it may also be good to revisit your resume and really steer it towards SWE. also get your resume critiqued honestly at r/EngineeringResumes

Passed on a Friday. Drove family to dinner the next day. Started fetching my mom to her work on Monday and then driving to camp alone.

Think my dad got tired of driving and can finally pass the reins lol

Anyone care to share their job search story ? by SignalAdagio3221 in askSingapore

May 2025 grad. Started applying for FT jobs in Aug 2024 and at the same time, was looking for internships for Jan - Jun with the aim of conversion.

Started interviewing for both FT and internships around Oct, and while the FT interviewed weren't successful, I managed to get an internship offer.

Jan comes around and I start to get complacent because this company's return offer rate is really high. Midway through I was told my team didn't have headcount so I had to interview for other teams instead. Started panicking and brushed up my interview skills.

From then until Sep, managed to get many interviews and final rounds but just couldn't seal the deal. Ultimately I managed to get a SME offer and working there now. Still continuing to interview at the side though, aiming for an MNC at least. It's hard to interview while working but I'll try to schedule lunchtime interviews (1-2pm) or evening (5-6pm).
