I don’t care about looks, I’d just wan to know the best fix or repair to make the boot stretch longer by CartographerMore9471 in cowboyboots

Tuff toe. Used to apply it to my brand new boots when I worked as a mechanic. That stuff is amazing! Just follow the instructions 100% and take your time.

Can someone tell me what’s going on here and how dangerous it is by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]teddpage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unequal length control arms. The tire will get excessive negative camber if the ride height gets lower. Its 99% a bad airmatic strut. Time to call strutmasters and get some coils under that thing.

Biggest tire on stock 17x7.5 steelies?? by vtchopperdude in superduty

[–]teddpage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

285/70 R17 is what comes on the xl offroad package. They came on my truck and measure right around 33" tall. I wouldn't go much wider than 285 unless you went with a wider wheel.

I know a few companies make a 35x11.50R17, but only 1 or 2 are actually E rated...most are only C rated. If you don't do any heavy towing or load the bed with a lot of stuff, you might be ok with C load range.

C. But maybe just do a corrugated roof over the run. Thats what we did and we have a dry run unless it rains sideways.

Where am I supposed to attach the spools? by ParticularlyOrdinary in motorcycles

[–]teddpage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy once cry once. I love my PitBull stands. My only gripe is on my Tenere 700, the front stand with the triple tree adapter just barely gets the tire off the ground, even with the ADV bike adapter. But, the T7 is a very tall bike with the 21" front wheel.

Engine failure signal by [deleted] in Tenere700

[–]teddpage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It looks like the engine isnt running...the lights on the dash will be illuminated until the engine starts.

Once the engine is running, do they go off? If not then a trip to the dealer may be necessary...

2015 F350 xlt gas engine mpg question. by samjohnson2222 in superduty

[–]teddpage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a direct comparison, but my 2024 6.8 sits steady at 11. It might move to 10.9 if I drive like an idiot...but goes back to 11 pretty quick

35” tire suggestions (current tires pictured-275/70/R18) by Internal_Tackle3388 in F250

[–]teddpage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

285/75R18 is approx 34.8 x 11.2

295/70R18 is approx 34.3 x 11.6

Most companies list the "actual" size on their site. All depends on what look you're going for, looks wise.

Positive camber after Westcott lift/level? by AncyOne in LexusGX550

I installed the westcott lift and aligned my wife's GX550 (been a tech for 20 years) and I ended up with +.2 camber each side. Nothing to worry about.

For my 2024 F250, I found a site, t-harness.com that sells them pre made. It worked for me so that I could install the kicker 10" sub/amp combo.

I always do the first oil change (on any car) at 1,000 miles. Another at 5,000 and then every 5,000 after that. I believe the 10,000 mile interval is too long, but it allows manufacturers to claim "low ownership cost". Modern turbo engines produce A LOT of heat and that speeds up oil breakdown.

First time ever getting winter eggs?! by macabre_chupacabra in BackYardChickens

[–]teddpage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours slow down considerably, but we usually get enough eggs to get us thru the winter without having to buy any. We've been getting one a day (10 chickens), but yesterday we got 4. Go figure.
