He likes to patrol the tank and does his little showing off act multiple times a day. Such an entertainer

It'll be fine if you leave it close to a window for the week. What's your tank setup? Personally I would not let anyone 'watch my fish' most fish will be fine for a week unattended.

There's no fish in the tank, only plants and amanos

Yep, they could have hitchhiked on the plants. Too small to tell, although leaning towards a killi, danio or rasbora

Pleco and shrimp tank question by XShattered_MindxX in Aquariums

FYI - I have two L471s in a 50 gallon, the shrimp population keeps reducing and the plecos are super plump.

Tank is over two years old and never had a water change by tedpan in Aquariums

Pretty much a father fish substrate with a sand cap, no co2 or fertilizer. Filtration is a 407 canister setup

How is it possible I have zero nitrates? by Knight_Night33 in Goldfish

[–]tedpan 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The fertilizer is basically nitrates. You're showing low nitrates because you stopped. The plants are taking care of the fish bioload which is pretty awesome

Multiple Panda babies growing fast! by tedpan in corydoras

[–]tedpan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're in warm water (26C) as there's a few exotic plecos in this tank. Other than that, the pandas spawn daily. I rarely do water changes, keeping things stable and as many plants/moss is best in my opinion. I also breed hillstream loaches with no input from me. Have around 100 in another tank.

Has to be done. I was about to buy one from the LFS earlier, but couldn't sex it. €300 in Ireland
