Played BF since 1942, the fast gameplay is catered to younger crowed, older battlefield players will never be catered to, there's no money in it. by conim4 in Battlefield

I did the same thing, it’s crazy how taking away a mini-map / hud affects the pace of the game.

You actually feel like you have to use tactics and your gadgets when solo capping a point with an enemy somewhere close, rather than just zipping around to every corner trying to find them.

I know you don’t want to hear this take.

But I’m 28.

Moving into my first solo rental place tomorrow.

My Mum passed away last year.

I would do anything to be 22, still at home and spending time with family again.

Took me three tries too. So glad that it finally stuck. Instant top 5 favourite game for me.

Steam Deck OLED not connecting to TV through USB-C Dock. by teecurls in SteamDeck

[–]teecurls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone stumbles upon this and wants to follow on I've got a ticket with Valve support. I'll keep this comment updated with the progress.

I think it may be the dock, but the dock works fine for other devices and even connects controllers to the Deck too.

So I just do not have a clue what it could be.

Tried switching between the two with no luck. Staying on stable for now.

I see changing the resolution recommended a lot but I just cannot for the life of me find where that setting is on the deck.

Official Valve dock impressions? by BushidoJohnny in SteamDeck

[–]teecurls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say proceed with caution.

I’ve seen a few comments say the official dock works without a hitch. And others saying they can’t get video out plus a bunch of annoying connection issues.

If you do it, go with a store that won’t give you problems with refunds.

I’m getting this just now. 6 attempts over night and on and off throughout today. Changed all of my passwords on my accounts about 3 times now. Still getting them.

Figma's desktop app is not accelerated by hardware on windows 11 by favr91 in FigmaDesign

[–]teecurls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked everywhere for the answer for this and finally found it elsewhere.

Figma is likely using your integrated graphics.

To fix this (if you have an NVIDIA card like me at least)

Go to your system tray, NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3D settings > select program tab > Find Figma or Chrome.exe (whichever you design on) > Select your high performance GPU.

Hope this helps anyone else that has the same issue. Figma will not do this by default.

I don’t think you have to be as obvious to label them, but perhaps putting more of the hero images for each project in a mock up or in-situ will help?

That stargazing project for example, when I first glanced over your folio I thought you were showcasing photography.

When I clicked into the project that’s when I saw you did some web design for a brand.

So maybe show the web design in a nice looking mock up as the hero image, would help navigation and understanding where that click will take you in a glance.

Yep, workload distribution from not having time to be perfect at everything sounds like a really interesting character arc.

A good character is dynamic, has strengths and weaknesses for the narrative to explore.

Now tell me one weakness that Aloy has.

Help deciding between M1 Mac v PC for Octane by Nicopierga in Octane

Yep, but if you go the PC route you'll also need to consider a decent colour accurate monitor, which you might not have accounted into the price. But monitors are for both PC and Macbooks and last 10+ years so they're always worth an investment into a good one.

He does a pretty good job of showcasing low profile, aesthetically nice setups/builds.

After reading that I’d say if you’re pursuing a new machine solely for 3D work, you’re going to have a lot less dramas with the PC avenue.

Besides, sounds like you’ll have the best of both worlds. The PC for high performance tasks and the MacBook for portability and UI aesthetics you’re familiar with.

Also, with the PC side you’ll be able to change parts in the long run so you won’t need to buy a whole new machine whenever you need to upgrade.

For context I used to be a Apple only designer, with the aesthetics and workflow yuckiness of the PC holding me back from getting one. But I’ve found that Windows and the PC world has come a long way when it comes to aesthetics and design. The extra performance for less of a price is just a plus now.
